I do have fowlpox come through on the young ones around August and I welcome it cause after they're immune for life and I've never lost one. Everybody I know around here does the same thing. You get strong blood by letting them live naturally without all the vaccines and stuff imo
You sound like me with my birds. They're well taken care of, but I've seen people get vaccinations and use antibiotics like crazy and their flocks end up dying.

It's like kids... If you try to keep them away from germs, they're the ones that end up getting the sickest.

Also I think this week must be the thing for weird animal things because Libby somehow tore all of her stitches out today (think Frank probably pawed her) and had to be rushed to the vet while I stayed with Franklin.

She’s going to be fine but yup, it really was as bad as he thought and she did tear them all out (I thought maybe it wasn’t as bad as he was thinking) and had to go under again to get stitched back up.

Got blood all over my white coat too which is how we noticed but thankfully it washed off.

He wrapped her neck up and rushed her in and went back a few hours later to pick her up.

This happened this afternoon.

She is now going to have to wear the cone full time (she wasn’t wearing anything today and previously just had like a bandana over it) and he asked for more powerful sedatives. :lau

I’ve always gotten my birds vaccinated.

Probably unnecessary but I’m paranoid haha

The new chicks aren’t though just cause they only sell vaccinations in 1000 dose bottles.

But any ones I order are. Maybe stupid but I’ve also read once you get them vaccinated, unvaccinated birds can be killed being near them because they carry a worse strain, so now I have to vaccinate them. But if I ever start over I don’t think I would but idk.
