nightmare material. IV pooped at the vet and stank out the entire lobby lmao.

Today is (was) my birthday! And I'm feeling pretty good for the first time in three weeks or so. I didn't get to see any family which really sucks, but my husband made it a pretty darn great day anyway.

My hive is taking FOREVER! I knew that we wouldn't get any honey last year since we started them later in the season. I am hoping things pick up this year and we will actually yield something. I can't wait! I'm having deja vu. I feel like I've said this before. If I have, forgive me for repeating myself lol.

We had bees for many years both in OKC and here on the farm.
We lost our last hive to Varreo mites.
Last spring, we had a swarm take over a branch on a young apple tree. Grabbed two complete hive bodies, a queen excluder and several supers, and set them up in a corner by the garden. Then we cut the branch and carried the swarm to the hive. After gently shaking the bees into the top hive body, we topped that with the excluder, added the two supers and the inner hive top and secured the lid in place.
We fed the bees thru the late fall and on warm winter days.
The hive is active this spring in the fruit trees and the various spring flowers.

Someone stole our horse chicken last night.

I am almost positive that it was a human but I can't prove it.
I would really like to put another bird in the exact cage and watch the footage of the camera, that has been set up, to see what happens tonight.
