glad the 3 made it. nice picsView attachment 1374749 View attachment 1374751 Good news! The Bluebirds have fledged. The nest has a single blue egg remaining. It looks like #4 left a couple of weeks ago from the pictures, so I doubt that one made the jump to life.
The parents will continue to feed the chicks for a couple of weeks, so the chicks are in one of the trees here abouts. The dried meal worm stand I put up 20 feet from the nest box has not been touched. 10 years ago we bought live meal worms and after a week the male would watch us put worms out and collect them for the brood. I'll keep watching.
Will have to research later about how many broods the parents will have in a year. Seems like they do a couple, but I should confirm. Nest clean out tomorrow. See if anyone uses it tonight.
Woot I'm 98% done with my quail cage, my horse eggs are getting close to done too. Experiment balut shall be returning in soon!

All my biddies were out in their respective private runs this afternoon, with mom teaching scratching lessons !! All are doing really well. DD had 2 friends over yesterday evening, the girls all thought it was great that we hatched our own chicks and could not believe they were so cute. It was nice for the city girls to see, they also viewed the film of the one we hatched on my bed, while it was hatching. So got to see exactly how a chick hatches. It was really fun.![]()
