➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

So at some point in my life with the input of others it was decided that less than 50lbs. is a fake dog and more than 50lbs. is a real dog. When I got my tri-color rescue as a pup we hoped and thought she was part Bernese Mountain Dog. At around 6 months old she seemingly stopped growing. She was clearly not going to be a giant. I was afraid I had a fake dog. In reality she is a stocky little working dog, Aussie/Catahoula mix, and hovers around the 50lb. mark. When she puts on winter weight she's above 50lbs., and then dips down again in summer. Even if the rat makes it to 2lbs. he will always be a fake dog. ;):lau

You beat me to it.

You will regret NOT getting the Australops.

Actually, I'd like some Australops.
I love our Australorps. Pretty birds, and they leave us eggs daily :) Got about 20 of theirs in the incubator right now, and had some hatch in the last batch our friend incubated for us. Also plan to buy 7-8 more hens in the next month or so. Glad we didn't sell the 2 we have a few months ago, before we decided to start building the farm up - since they're currently our only layers. [other than the bantams someone gave us for the fiance helping build coops recently and have also finally decided to start laying some].

They do things weird up there where it snows.
Like start school late?
My junior year of high school in New Jersey ended on June 22 (2004 lol). We always started right after Labor Day. My parents moved us to NC my senior year... it started on Aug 4 ... I was like where the heck did my summer go!?!? But I did get to graduated May 27, and the people I went to school with in NJ all my life had to wait until about 3 weeks later.

When I got my first German Shepherd in 2015, I picked the biggest male puppy in the litter. Mom was 90lb, dad was 120lb. My sweet handsome boy has seemingly topped out around 70lb (he's 3 years old now). The 2nd Shepherd I got about a year & a half later, a female, had the biggest feet as a 4 month old puppy, was growing like a weed. Has topped out around 68lb at 2 years old. :idunno

Real dogs! :love

Gorgeous shepherds.
Thank you :) . I had one growing up, she was the best dog. Passed away due to lyme disease in her kidneys at 14 years old (I was 12 then). I'd wanted one ever since, and I will always have at least one, preferably 2 :D Getting Ember was the best thing for Ruger, they're the perfect playmates. They just haven't quite figured out farm animals yet, having been "Residential Neighborhood Dogs" until Easter of this year.

Real dogs! :love
Real dogs by size ...

Ruger was raised with a cat ... not sure if he thought he was a cat, or the cat thought he was a dog ... The cat used to give him a run for his money when it came to playing lol. I have videos of Ruger whining because the cat had him pinned down. And the cat was lazy about it - he'd lay there and just grab at Ruger while he ran by and nudging him, then eventually would "bear trap" on him and catch him.
