Miss Sunshine is dying not right this minute, but soon. The vet said she has a tumor on her spleen, cancer. We could take pictures and run tests to how much it is spreading elsewhere. We could surgically remove her spleen. None of it really changes that she is dying. For now she is lying in the tall grass in the shade waiting for a vole to come out of its hole.

I get teary eyed when I hear about Miss Sunshine because I am seeing the exact same thing in her long lost sister from another litter in my living room.
