➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I have tears on my face now after reading all these posts. I can remember the day each of my dogs passed like it was yesterday and it still hurts.

You do have to love and cherish your pet each day you get. Dogs, ferrets, rats, chickens they are all precious gifts.
:hugs

@RUNuts
I got the psychopath EE's from My Pet Chicken....probably about 3 years ago. Egg laying is not great either. I randomly get pretty green eggs but there is no consistency and season doesn't seem to matter either. They will, however, sit on everyone else's eggs without problem (although this is a problem for me as the eggs aren't fertile and no reason to be sat on!)

Prayers for all who have lost/losing pets. as far as cancers becoming more common, didn't used to take dogs to the vet very often and cats even less often.. but several FB groups for different flea products of people saying it harmed their pet.
Also several web sites.

Amen. Include family and friends. Even the crazy internet ones. Peace be with you.

@KikisGirls - on the subject on hatching, why are you doing it inside the spare bathroom and not the garage? I would say the garage was hotter and more humid so it would be better. However, the temperature & humidity fluctuates with the diurnal cycle. That means the bathroom is more stable since it is actively AC controlled?

Yes, I'm distracted. Thank you for that.

I prefer the bathroom because I can close the door and limit people entering it and potentially touching my bator.
Our garage is well...our front door and too many changes.
Bathroom is more controlled.

Australorps are definitely on the short list. Excellent layers per Ideal, too!

Imagine a black and white flock. White leghorns, black australorps and barred rocks. Visually striking.

For some reason, the leghorns are the only ones in my mind that say chicken because of the straight up tail feathers. The BR and reds have the more delicate tails. What else has the leghorn tails?
A lot of my EEs have had a big, high tail. I've had my share of skittish and crazy but they tend to simmer down at POL. The eldest just turned 7 and STILL lays -- she was one of the more insane juveniles and used to fight the rooster but will drop to a squat at the sight of a human. Any human. :lau
