The one was internally pipped for quite a while, so I would bet it will hatch by this evening, but yes, 48 hours from EXternal pip is not out of the question.
Rushing them is a bad idea because they pip a while before they are finished absorbing yolk. Rushing them can end up with a yolk hanging out and that’s just not good.

I really know this but do you know how tempting that pip looks? It really looks like it needs to be picked at.



As long as I can see woodpeckering going on in there I'm leaving them be.
If they stop moving in the shell I will panic.

I just realized how amusing this is...I have all these healthcare software tabs open, insurance tabs open...and in the middle is a chicken icon. LOL.
Um...yeah boss....it's for chicken soup...healthcare....yah know....sure....it's one of the new softwares we are using.

Chef is still in Kentucky...which is why I was able to bake in peace. I can't cook...but I can bake. He just usually takes over the kitchen and my baking projects. I gave up years ago. The fights were getting too out of control (dented stove, dented trash can, broken glasses....hey, I'm Italian, I throw things)

No. They are in their own coop and run. The bigs can see them though.
