Close the AC vent to keep stable temperature. Smaller rooms will vary more. Closets are good too, but swing every time the door is opened. The swings are both temperature and humidity depending on what the in rush of air has.

Is it better to do this outside?

I've got 68°F and 70% humidity on my discount store, uncalibrated temp & humidity gauge. This is on the back patio with the dogs.

I'm too afraid something will get into the bator if I do it outside.
I did think about maybe doing it in the garage but the Mex is not going to let me...if I explode an egg on his cars I will be in the dog house for sure.

I had a hatching nightmare last night and I blame BYC and this thread!

I dreamed I had 2 broody hens sitting on 2 nests. Whenever I checked on them there were more hatched chicks and less eggs and then I spotted an unusual egg, and carnage, there was a lizzard that hatched from one of the eggs and was eating the remaining chicks and attacking the chickens! The. There was the mama lizzard which was the size of a large crocodile that was running around and attacking people!

Ha chickens do give weird dreams... I process my cockerels and am trying to grow them big.
I had a dream that I was raising emus for meat. I was trying to catch an emu to remove it's head... AND IT WAS AS BIG AS A STEER...
I think something that size would have a better chance of taking my head off.
now why wouldn't I just shoot it, and how long would it take to process something that size and did I buy another freezer to store it all?
