➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Porridge is also called congee. I just googled the recipe and it’s saying 50 min to an hour and 30 min to make. Wow I don’t remember it taking that long but then it was years ago and I had my mom help me

We love congee. My recipe is one cup of short grain rice in a crock pot with 8 cups water, or broth, or water and bullion, or water and a few pieces of chicken. Cook overnight or until the rice breaks and the whole mixture becomes translucent and very soft. Serve with a sprinkling of sesame oil and sesame seeds and maybe a little finely chopped green onion. Or enjoy plain. Or add some boiled chicken. Or put a fried egg on top. It's the kind of thing you make to taste. It's basically like oatmeal but made with rice. Very comforting and you can feed an army with it.

That sounds good. I have this thing and I’m not sure if it’s a pressure cooker or crock pot. It only has a “warm” and “cook” button. Could that be a crock pot?
