➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

:barnie Wide awake.
I just got woken up by a nightmare.

Someone posted a pic of a group of baby squabs. I went to post a comment on the pic and the things came to life and started screaming and chasing me!

:barnie I just shot up out of bed.

View attachment 1368513 View attachment 1368515 Good to know. Floppy left the golf ball nest to sit in the other nest box. I pulled 8 eggs out and moved the 3 golf balls. Fluffy-fluffy floppy. Broody day 3 - check.

@KikisGirls my dog house looks almost as beautiful as your quail house. I still need to do the trim work. Crazy Lady mostly approved. Puppies now tumbling over the edge of the pool/whelping box. Eyes open. Huge bellies waddling around on tiny legs. Tinsy little ruff-ruffs!

So far we have found homes for 5 and then the cuteness factor wore off. Still looking for 7 homes.

Put some dried meal worms in a plastic lid yesterday. Bluebirds haven't found the treats yet. The ones from a decade ago would be watching us as we put meal worms out for them. 10 steps away and here comes Daddy bluebird to get supper. Saw a blue shell in the nest today. Tempted to fish it out. Not yet though.
I love it. At least your looks straight!

I assure you it is not plumb or level, but the dogs won't be that picky when it is still dry inside. I should take a finished picture with the roof on. Move in day is today. I get to trim it tonight. Had to move it away from the house to work on it and getting it moved back close may take superhuman powers.

What height did you make the quail cage? 18"?

@KikisGirls Really like that "tin roof, rusted" look. Fond memories "down at the Love Shack"

Next year. Quails.
It's an old air conditioning drip pan thing.
The rusty part is on the under side..the top is still nice and shiny.
