I made another terrible mistake and moved to pick one up AND THEY ALL SCATTERED. So here I am, chasing 6 week old fake chickens around the yard, screaming at my 3 year old to not let out the fake dog or the giant while my husband stands there in awe, probably wondering how the hell he went from San Diego night club owner to the guy who wrangles toddlers and watches his crazy-ass wife chase chickens, barefoot around the yard. :idunno:oops:

What a beautiful mental picture! You might be related to Crazy Lady.

If I may offer a suggestion, if you don't have a large fish net with a long handle, they are invaluable for catching chickens before you tame them.:gig If Mr. Nightclub doesn't fish, Walmarts carries them in the sporting section.

My brother got guineas. They got out outside of the coop before they were conditioned to be home. And away they went. Over the hill, through the woods, never to be seen from again. Literally watched his money run away. is that better than flying away? LOL

Pretty sure somewhere in the pages (and pages) of the squatch watcher thread there is a discussion of a chicken reality TV station.

I mean, I had no idea how high they could fly until I left the top gate of the mini coop open while transporting the chicks inside. I came back out only 15 seconds later and 3 are perched at the top, daring me to come closer to take them inside with the others.

That would be a #1 show for sure!

Just this evening I was wandering around the neighborhood in my pjs looking for my cat...
and then I heard him crying and crying and followed the noise and he was inside my neighbor's 6ft fence and he would poke just his head above and he was stuck on something on the other side (his harness was caught or something) So I was there alternately peering between the cracks and trying to reach over the top blindly trying to grab him. Eventually got my hand on him and pulled him over the top. He was quite happy to be freed and come home to eat.
