➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

What a beautiful mental picture! You might be related to Crazy Lady.

If I may offer a suggestion, if you don't have a large fish net with a long handle, they are invaluable for catching chickens before you tame them.:gig If Mr. Nightclub doesn't fish, Walmarts carries them in the sporting section.

My brother got guineas. They got out outside of the coop before they were conditioned to be home. And away they went. Over the hill, through the woods, never to be seen from again. Literally watched his money run away. is that better than flying away? LOL

Im curious as to how one would go about tameing there chickens? I started out with a 4 foot pallet fence for my chickens and well lets just say i looked like @Glitterchicks running around after the chickens hurling my giant fish net at them and completly missing :lau so now i just said to hell with the fence and let them go where ever they please. For the most part they dont travel to far away i mean i never had them like completly run away but they do like pushing there limits... any suggestions?

:lau Omg...I can see it... me running around the backyard, flinging a net at the chickens and EVERYONE SCREAMING. :gig
"WILL SOMEBODY HELP ME CATCH THESE DAMN CHICKENS?! THIS IS A SERIOUS SITUATION, STOP LAUGHING AND DO SOMETHING!!!:barnie"

There needs to be reality show featuring crazy chicken ladies.

Do you know how veiws that would get i mean we could prolly no joke start a youtube channel and just have users from here post there crazy videos chasing there chickens or other animals around trying to catch them :lau:lau

Just this evening I was wandering around the neighborhood in my pjs looking for my cat...
and then I heard him crying and crying and followed the noise and he was inside my neighbor's 6ft fence and he would poke just his head above and he was stuck on something on the other side (his harness was caught or something) So I was there alternately peering between the cracks and trying to reach over the top blindly trying to grab him. Eventually got my hand on him and pulled him over the top. He was quite happy to be freed and come home to eat.
Poor kitty.
Glad you were able to free him without any injuries.

I got distracted this morning watching Mama chooking at food for her babies. So sweet. They'll be a week old tomorrow. While I'm standing there, the wind blew open the run door ... and the rooster took 3 girls out. I'd have left them out for the day, but we haven't fenced off the garden yet.

I've developed a system for this scenario. Is that sad?
Close run
Close chicken door to run
Open human door
Herd birds into coop one at a time
Go into coop, manually open chicken door
Shove bird into run
Riinse and repeat

That roo is a stinker though. Always veers off into the bushes hollering like I'm gonna kill him. Not that I haven't thought about it ..
