I don't think I know what a vole is.
Not sure they live down here...I will ask Google.

Voles are 2 to 3 times the size of a mouse and have a shorter thicker tail. They really like water and in past years have destroyed my beets, carrots and potatoes along with helping themselves to the tomatoes.

when they were small we tried drowning them in a garbage can and they wouldnt so we got the bright idea to try and stab them with a 5 tine shit fork.... well that was a grand idea and all but we missed them in the bottom of the can then they ran up the fork and lunged right at my head, yeah BAD IDEA DO NOT TRY

Several years ago a few voles tunneled their way into the guinea coop. I decided to wait until spring and the ground was thawed out before dealing with them. By the time I was ready to take care of them the guineas had caught and eaten everyone of them. I occasionally find a dead one in the guinea pen that has had its brain eaten but most of the time I don't see any. Once the guineas decided they were good to eat, they have really thinned out the vole population. They are ecstatic if they can find a mouse nest with the little pinkies there.
