➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I thought you had movement yesterday? So we need to work on your end game.

Horse eggs at 5 days, 14 days to figure something out. Was this the no water added batch? I just can't keep it all straight.

Hims still cute.

I haven't seen movement in this last quail egg for a few days now.

Let me dig through my videos to determine just when.
I know for sure day 10ish was the last I had seen movement in quail egg number 2...the one I opened yesterday.

Meanwhile my drake is still plotting to kill the ducklings and now they are essentially fully feathered and big and stinky and off heat and need to move outside but the big ducks won't have them :barnie

I don't know how people brood big batches indoors. I have two ducklings and feel maxed out with the stink!

I think I will be reinforcing drake jail this weekend. Right now it's a good see no touch setup, but not predator proof, and the coyotes have been lurking again. They woke me up 2-3 nights ago. If I can secure that, the ducklings can move out. It really just needs a roof of sorts and I have close to 50 ft. of fencing on the roll still because we are behind in our fencing project.

First time we got chickens, we brooding 16 chicks for 8 weeks. in our basement. It took about 2 years for the smell to completely go away. It wasn't an awful smell, but not exactly what you want to smell when you to retrieve some potatoes or canned good out of your pantry.

This year the plan is to brood them 7 to 10 days in the basement then set them up in the outside brooder.
