➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

OK, I have to write some e-mails for work and go to bed. I want pictures of Balut Babies before bedtime!!!

My old barn cat, Lily, was like that. She was always smarter than the boy cats and lived 18 long years. Never came when she was called. I know they just ignore us when we are out looking! Turds.

Lol, turds indeed. My entire family is allergic to cats so bringing them indoors isn’t an option. They’re all strays who show up and, if they’re friendly and pull their weight, get to stay. They do quite well and are very predator savvy. If we don’t like them for whatever reason or they aren’t a good outdoor cat, I find homes for them myself.

Unfortunately the last cat had a bad habit of sleeping in car engines.. she went missing over Christmas and I believe someone forgot to pop the hood and check for her before leaving for the airport. :/ I posted a million missing cat notices but I knew she was long gone by the second day missing.

We've lost 2 cats since moving out into a more rural area. I still look around on craigslist from time to time but out here, there's not too much hope.
It's so hard to lose animals you love so much. My heart breaks for anyone going through it.

It sucks because of how many strays make their way onto our property. It’s an emotional responsibility, not to mention money to spay/neuter/vaccinate, that we didn’t ask for.

But that’s okay, we love them and I’m happy to help the lucky ones who end up here instead of being eaten in the woods or hit by a car.

I always end up with one or a few extras too.

I wish I was like this.
I forget everything. Except the stupid things that don't matter as much- I never forget those!
I'm always going 2000mph so I've got serious focus issues. I have literally made dinner for my entire family and then realized that I forgot to make enough for myself. Great diet plan though!

I only get like this while trying to hatch eggs.
This forget where my phone is to take the picture and it's in my other hand.

I'm normally pretty normal.

One of my Barred Rocks name is Woody - when she was in the brooder she'd go at the cardboard like Woody Woodpecker!

For real they look like they are trying to be real woodpeckers.
It's quite funny looking because they aren't actually cracking the shell.
They both better figure out they aren't doing it right.
