➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I don't know how you could possibly tell if they're "white layer" offspring or Pekin. I had presumed white layer because the seller is producing eggs so wouldn't they get a commercial layer type? But, it's also possible the egg supplier is selling both balut and Pekin ducklings (popular for meat use, right?)

I don't think pekins are particularly prolific layers so it might be hard to have a pekin laying operation to produce lots of balut on a weekly basis. I'm voting white layer as more likely. Memory escapes be, but I believe that's what Metzer uses for balut production as well.

Can you tell them apart?
 
They stopped it but I could hardly keep my eyes open. I managed to see the duckies and then i conked out. Almost call in at work to get more sleep but my flocks gotta eat.
I just finally closed my eyes and I heard a woodpecker...woke me right up.
