➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I can't remember if I mentioned this here of not. I think it is perfectly fine and normal for the broodies to get off the nest in our area this time of year. I've seen this...never sitting on the nest...with my own eyes...and all eggs hatch. I wouldn't worry about her too much. I haven't looked up your weather but am assuming it's similar to mine.
It’s been really hot here but the eggs never feel that warm. I still don’t leave any eggs in the coop though. I’d love to donate all these broodies. We bought chickens for their eggs, not to hatch babies. :gig

This is a tough one.
Can you try to get a couple more pictures?

Just wondering bc you all are very knowledgeable regarding chick hatching. How long has everyone kept chickens? I'm really loving all the info I'm learning following these active threads and it just had me wondering. I just got my first chickens last year and really didn't have any experience with them. I didnt grow up around chickens but I'd been wanting a backyard flock for years. I familiarized my myself with breeds and housing and am trying to learn the rest as I go. I started with 9 pullets and am constantly adding and subtracting from my flock until I get exactly what I want.
