➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Some people successfully house chickens and ducks together but some will never get along and live happily together. You must be prepared for the possibility that they may need to be kept separate at all times.

I don’t house mine together, but they coexist, mostly peacefully. My ducks don’t like my Marans though.
I think it’s because the Marans are bigger than they are. They don’t mind the bantam breeds though.

Just woke up. The little welsummer died while I was asleep. Unfortunately hubby thought I would’ve been too upset to deal with it and got rid of the body.
Sigh. He’s learning.

I wanted to cut open her crop to double check it wasn’t impacted with pine shavings, as all of them have been picking at their bedding.

I also just don’t like people dealing with my dead animals. I need the closure. Kind of irritated.

That’s okay.. he meant well. Sorry to be a wet blanket.

I should mention that while I was at the store I sent a picture of me holding the egg in my hand to a friend. She questioned if I was sure it wasn't a goose egg because it look pretty big. So I went back to where the eggs where and took this picture.

Not until HOURS after I realized there was something "wrong" with the eggs did I notice the sign in the picture.
