Kiki's mission for today:
Figure out how to safely house duck's on that lake.


You know there are hundreds of ducks that live on our neighborhood pond with no housing.
I wonder how they aren't all dead.

That’s what I’m wondering now. I see ducks all the time on lakes that seem fine.. my dogs also live on that side of the property, I wonder if that would be an issue.
I’d hate to set my mom up with ducks and minimal protection just to have them all picked off.

My husband said he wanted 2 when we got married. Now we have 3 and he wants 5 more. Trust nothing they say!
Maternal instinct will come with the baby! Trust this!

Hah.. yea, no. We both strongly feel 2 is the max, maybe just 1 if the future pregnancy is too hard on me and my health. I DO trust myself, but I also have big plans for my life in a vet career. Hard to balance being a housewife and veterinarian..

Oooooh! What kinds of calls do you have? I just have some grey calls, but I love the look of the snowy varieties and the whites are just ridiculously cute.

Greys, blue fawns, pastels.
I love snowys too, some day I want some of them.

I don’t even know what I’m going to do. We already decided we’re not trying until I’m out of school, but after that..
I try not to think about it.
Stresses me out too much.

Stupid question about quail.
Do you keep them or let them run free? And if so, do they come back?
I ask because we have TONS of quail here that run wild. I couldn't imagine keeping them penned up!

I think some people keep them in cages and some people build big flight like pens for them.
Some people do hatch them to release for what ever reason.

I do not think that if you plan on keeping quail as pets that you can let them free range though.

It was wood ducks I was thinking of.
Look up “wood duck house,” they have a couple around the lake as part of the wildlife tax exemption.

Add big chunks of onions, bell pepper ( I don't normally use orange but I had it so in it went)garlic, jalapenos and tomatoes. Let it cook for minute while you take the skin off the chicken. View attachment 1469112Add some water to use to scrape up the sticky then put the chicken back in...add some more tomatoes. Cover and walk away.

This will end up as a chicken guisado that I will use to make tostadas with. I think. Or maybe it will turn in to just chicken with a side of rice and beans.
I have a good hour to decide.

Hahaha! I seriously don't do babies. Can't stand em. Infants totally gross me out and the sound of a baby crying/screaming gets on my last nerve almost instantly. The thought of being pregnant is beyond horrifying to me.
Don't worry all - I have ZERO plans of ever having children so I won't be one of those monster moms!
Instead, I get to be an awesome auntie! My five year old nephew adores me and I love him. He's my favorite kid in the whole wide world. His little sister is terrible.

I am a rotten aunt.. well I did pay for their junior college, but otherwise I suck as an aunt.

I dislike childen .. well until they can do chores... but my brother didn't teach his kids to do chores. He dumped his youngest off for a couple of weeks when my dad died and mom moved back... like I didn't have enough to deal with ... she was 15 and supposed to help.. I asked her to chop veggies for supper.. she was surprised I let her handle a knife .. mine you my brother gave me my first knife at 9 or so ... I asked him and he said she was a clutz and would cut herself.. she didn't. ..
she didn't know how to trim limbs, use a riding lawn mower,,, to clean she would put anything on the counter into the nearest drawer or cupboard.... my mom had macular degeneration and stuff where she could find it... the niece didn't know where she had put RX much less anything else.
