Found some EE baby to adult threads. The conclusion is... you can’t predict color at all lol. Some white chicks stayed all white. Some turned a little apricot/white.
Unfortunately I didn’t really find any black and whites that started out all white.. but I did find some lighter chipmunks that did, so there’s still hope!
I can totally believe the never knowing part. Two of mine started out looking very different and as they feathered in looked almost identical. I was so disappointed. One went to live somewhere else to avoid confusion.
