➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Wah.

Mmm, you know, it doesn't sound too bad now that you put it that way. No kids allowed, right? Can I come too?
Only if you’re cool with no small talk and several spontaneous naps.
Night night pills.
I fell out of the chair laughing so hard.

I need pads.
Not pee pads.
Football protection pads.
Yikes. We’ve got the jackets and room ready for you too, kiki.

Still in catch up mode again...
I mean... could I hatch some and let them go free? Is that irresponsible if there's not a quail overpopulation problem??
Someone beat me to the answer...but to clarify why they can't be released. Some breeds have been too many generations away from wild and have lost their foraging instinct. Caged, fed pelleted feed and fresh water every day in shelters.

It is sold for like 8 dollar a pound at my store.
I got a bag full...close to 4 pounds of it for 99 cents.
I just couldn't pass it up.
I have no clue how I will use it all before the roots rot. There is no way I will use it all before it rots.

I've been meaning to look it up today to see about freezing it whole of if I should peel it first or what.
Thanks!
Put some plump roots in potting soil and sprout some. Set the tubers horizontal about one inch deep, put the pot in a semi sunny location and keep the soil moist. Mine sprouted on an east window sill.

There was a peacock down the street from this Airbnb we stayed in a couple weeks ago. We never heard it during the day, but at night it would start screaming.... Sooooooo weird!!!!
We were in the Florida Keys a few years ago. At evening, a gecko calling for a mate was louder than the peacock on the beach.

Any pips yet?
Mine are hatching...16 so far

Eeeew, or tarantulas!
I do not understand how people can have a giant man- eating pet spider.
My mother was a 6th grade Science teacher. Her classroom had live snakes, tarantulas and hamsters. Babysitting them at home in the summer was a trip in itself.

Yes I thought about trying to grow some!
I will do it tomorrow.

I started an attempt to go back and play catch up... but not today. I see there's a new poll.... my answer: I have no idea. Sorry never seen it. I saw paint colors mentioned... may go back and read there. Someone redecorating? Oh and figs... well just got them in the oven to begin drying which is going to be a LONGGGG process. Woke up to sick kids so between them, the drs, the pharmacists and wasting about two hrs on the phone with enterprise to get my rental straight for this weekend, Oh and dropping off and picking up dogs at groomer I didn't accomplish much. Anyway decided just to dry these first two days worth of figs and then I'm probably just going to can the others. I have a whole day lost +1 bc now DD1 has to go to ANOTHER dr for more exams and I've got several other things to do before vacay. I'll save the experimenting for when I return. Hopefully the birds won't have eaten them all when I get back.
