Quick stupid question while I’m out with the chicks. Are barred rocks sexable as chicks? Like sex links? Or could mine still potentially be cockerels?

I am not certain of this, but I thought something about the barring? Lighter chicks with heavier white barring are roos and darker chicks are pullets. That is what I remember and my memory is NOT always reliable.
Edited to add: As day old chicks - think the way the white spot on the head appears is also a factor. Not sure which was is which though. Ain't I helpful?

yes. Barred rocks are sexable. Larger yellow dot on the head and darker legs is what I remember. As with all things chicken, nothing is 100% until they crow.
When the chicks get the adult feathering, yes the males are more white than the females.
As a chick, they are both black with yellow dots on the heads and bellies.

a round white head spot is pullet.. a irregluar head spot is cockerel
double barring (lighter) is cockerel... single barring (darker) in BR is pullet.
I have some cx mix that all but one cockerel have been single bared.
