➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I've shipped many, many eggs and I would suggest you do not let them "rest" as so many say to do. Right to the incubator when you get them. My opinion is that riding in a hot environment on their way to you starts the embryo to develope and sitting on a counter or whatever for 24hrs in 70 degree temps could and will kill developing embryos. I think there's more risk than reward having them set and I've supplied alot of people with eggs on the gamefowl thread and all but one had very good hatches. And all went straight to incubator. Do how you want to do it just my suggestion
I actually do a blend. I put them directly in the incubator but don’t activate the turner for 24 hours to allow he air cell to settle.

X2
I have done it both ways and now I set them as soon as they have warmed to room temperature. I also start turning them immediately. The proof that some of the eggs have started developing early is when I would have eggs hatch days earlier than they are supposed to.

Exactly what triggered the thought. These books left an impression to last a lifetime! I'm still not sure my parents ever should have let me own them :gig
They're my favorites! I have many of them and would definitely enjoy having the full collection... things to aspire to!

I tried to look up the cost of an original one but their prices are not listed on their website and I didn't feel like live chatting with the dude that was trying to get me to live chat with him.

"Hello how can I help you today"...little pop up screen as soon as you click on their website :barnie He probably was ready to try to sell me a newer model and I would have just ended up arguing with his anyways for not just answered my question.

Actually I have been thinking about this and I was planning on putting them right into the incubator and not let them rest.
I think this is a good idea!!!!
WOOT!
Thank you!

Hi ya'll! I'm back! Anything important to catch up on? Recent pics of the babies, the reason behind the poll, etc
No recent pics of my babies. :(
My quail eggs are in transit!

No special reason for the poll...it's just because.

I suck at updates.

My sister had one of these lay eggs in her arm in South America. The cure was to wrap raw bacon around her arm every night. The larvae hatched, drilled out of her arm and into the bacon. She said it was very painful but still better than having a fly in your arm.
:th
I think I'd just cut off my entire arm.
The arm would be gone.
Yes, I would regret this later but I just wouldn't be able to deal with having a fly INSIDE OF MY ARM :sick.
