I have nothing against them AT ALL, but after working in a vet clinic, there is a couple breeds I will never personally own.. pugs being one of them. (sorry Wasabi, you’re still cute :love)
Our future dogs will be from shelters.. we’re not as interested in breeds as we used to be.
I’ve teared up over my 12 year old golden too, trust me. :(

I'm sure you've seen your share of heartbreak. Wasabi is my third pug. I love their personalities so much, I can't see myself not having at least one around. My second pug, Rhett, was from a pug rescue group in Florida and was the sweetest dog. All the dogs in the local pug rescue group were old or had special needs.

Pugs are a health disaster for sure, I don’t blame you. I’d love to own a golden, but they are expensive! I’ve tried to rescue from shelters but we’ve always been declined because of school and work schedules. Our lab mix was a rescue though, she was 4 weeks old and at a garage sale for free or headed to the pound.

All 3 of our dogs and all of our cats are rescues. A couple of them are foster failures because we just couldn't let them go. They end up being the best companions ever. I know that our big guy would have ended up being put down. He would bulldoze through everything out of fear and destroyed our house several times. After a couple of years he ended up being the best dog on the planet. I love hearing about other people who are the same way.:love
