While chicks may do fine at 85°F for you, it may be too cool for quail.
I have the guinea keets with their heat source set for 95°F and that is where they are staying. They are so much smaller than chicks and poults they need the extra heat.
My brooder is set so the keets can freely go from the warm area to the cooler area. The feed and water is in the cool area.
I'll be right here next to them non stop for the next few days.
