I'm going crazy because I have two brooders in my room right now (because I want to be close to them at all times) and the quail don't know how to shut up. My rooster thinks he's a dog and crows repeatedly when the dogs start barking.

i just tried to pour water into the stupid well thing and poured too much. It got my grip thing wet. I'm trying to dry it off with paper towels now.

Don't worry about drying it off. I get the grip stuff wet all the time.

@KikisGirls i use a mama heating pad for my chicks and it worked great but I tried it twice for the quail and even checking on them and tucking them back in at night I would come out in the morning and find cold stiff chicks strewn around the brooder. I was able to save most of them by turning on my red heat lamp but I did lose a few. I don’t know if your setup will work better than a mHP cave but they just couldn’t seem to figure it out and really needed the heat.

I don't want a cave...I want to be able to see all of them at all times.
I am going to leave the heating pad on half of the floor and up the side if the container. I think it will work fine. Should the babies start fussing too much I'll make changes.


I change my mind every ten minutes so no telling how this is going to go.
