➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Sorry r2elk, didn't mean any offense. Completely understand protecting your flock but idk, I guess I just have a different perspective or view? I really love animals (not saying that you don't) and am maybe a bit too much of a softie lol so I don't like killing unless absolutely necessary and would try to find non lethal methods first. Plus I don't even own a gun and even if I did, shooting isn't allowed in town I don't think (we're too close to houses) so I'm forced to find non lethal methods. That said, we don't have a loose animal problem here. But I just think there's so many other options such as an air horn or rocks. And I think I would try to find the owner if it was a dog or take it to a shelter but I know not all areas have shelters. That said, I do know that it is the owner's responsibility to keep an animal contained and on their own property but I also know that sometimes accidents happen and a dog escapes or an indoor cat gets loose and things like that and I know that if it was my animal that got loose once and it was shot immediately I'd be devastated. That said, if it happens more than once, I think by the second or third time I may shoot or at least just take it straight to animal control and let them pay the fines.

As for spaying and neutering, I actually do agree with everyone and would pay for it myself but I guess I was just saying that because I didn't think Cypress would want to pay for it.
No offense taken. I shoot cats because I like bunnies. There are no bunnies here because of all the cats that think my place is the best hunting area there is.

Guys I'm skipping ahead real quick bc I want all of your help. My chick that I really thought was a cockerel is looking more female. If I can get my hands on it I'm going to post a pic for your opinions. And no worries if you aren't sure I'd still like your opinion. No need for justification and it matters not if you end up being wrong I'd just like to know what everyone thinks. We've all got some level of experience with chicks here so help a sista out. Be on standby until I catch the crazy critter. TIA!
:pop

Ok so I cannot catch her. Well really I didn't try, just tried to get her close enough with treats for a pic but since she's raised completely by Momma she never wants anything to do with me. (I'm saying "she"now as if I'm sure  but I'm only about 75%). I know these are terrible but they may be all you need to see. Anyway I'll get a better pic when they go up to roost but for now I'll share what I did get since I called attention to the matter. This chick started out with a very large comb and big legs and upright stance. I just knew it was a cockerel but everyday it looks more hen to me now. I think the reason I'm thrown is that she's an f2 (at least) OE so she's got this straight comb but it's not typical in that it's staying a little flat to the head maybe bc of the EE/ameraucauna influence.

Oh good! That's totally understandable and I'm glad you're taking it to a shelter. I know some people would just shoot it on sight :(

I was gonna say maybe you could fix it secretly but why spend money on an animal that isn't yours?
I could fix it. The TNR program is free here but why return an unwanted animal is the question.

have you spoken to your Dr. about medicinal weed?

We can't be in the program and use medicinal marijuana. It's an automatic "yo ass is out" for lack of better words. We were told if you need medicinal marijuana you can't practice, basically. Bc you're judgment is impaired and I agree. Now the cbd oil is different. I'm going to look into this. Is this a thing that's prescribed here now? Or is it all otc? If I knew for 100% I wouldn't fail my next drug test I'd buy some and start taking it now!
