➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I might try to take better pics tomorrow afternoon when the lighting is better. Here are my fluffies!
My goodness this bird is scraggly. I hope this is normal. Doesn't s/he just look ticked off?

Every time I look at this chick, all I can see in my head is:
View attachment 1538769 from the muppets. Only with white fur. I think I am gonna name her (if it turns out to be a her) Muppet. Altho, I may change my mind cause I do that a lot.
Booted Bantam. Still little. Still adorable.

Possible Easter Egger. I know it's still debatable but I'm gonna hold out hope. No name yet.

And the sweetheart. No name yet.

Can you see the color? I'll do these next 2 full size in the hopes that you can see it better.

It's hard to get a clear pic. Maybe I'm trying to get too close.
Straight comb.

How do you even go OUTSIDE in that nastiness?

I would never leave the heated blanketed bed.
EVER!
I sometimes do chicken runs in short sleeves when we're in the middle of one of those 0*F-as-a-high snaps. Hey, even you would get sick of bundling up eventually.

We do have this nifty invention called "radiant heating." It makes the floors warm and the air warm and you warm.

Yeah and then your igloo melts all around you and then what?
You freeze to death!

Now I am researching Schipperke and Keeshond lol I used to want a Schipperke forever ago but forgot about them. They seem like great little dogs. But I think they're too small. Keeshond are a little bigger but not crazy big and happy, fun loving, friendly, smart dogs and seem perfect. And more unique than a Golden. Can be barkers though which could be an issue. And the coat but supposedly it's only once a week brushing. And females only get to like 35 pounds and males 45, so much more managable than a 60 or 70 pound dog and they are literally giant walking teddy bears LOL

BUT

These breeds are of course harder to find :/

Only ONE jacket to play in an igloo?
You are nuts.

Would you change "igloo" to "Batty's Padded Insane Asylum"? Purty please with fudge brownies on top???

I haven't got around to watching that video yet.

When we normally cook quail I wrap the little legs with cheese, jalapeño and then bacon around all of that and we cook them on the grill. Kinda like bacon wrapped, cheese jalapeños.

We'd take duck breasts, pound them flat, put a slice of mozzarella and 1/4 jalapeño and wrap the breast around that. Wrap that with bacon and put toothpicks to hold it together and grill it. Duck d'ourves. Sliders is what they'd call them today. Finger licking good!

Both of you... this sounds delicious. I watched that video and I think I'm convinced to do quail next season.
Do it! I'm planning on getting breeding stock from Kiki. She is such a trend setter. First balut, now quails. They are just like small, spazzy chickens. I start the quail habitat this winter during the cold weather. I hope it's cool enough to kill the mosquitos for Christmas.
