➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I just saw him standing so tall and strong in the brooder. Posturing and even strutted a couple steps. He is too cute! I sure hope he turns out to be a good Roo. I plan on keeping him. On a side note.... This may be a dumb question but can little Bantam Roos like Elvis mate properly with big old Black Australorps and Jersey Giants? Or should I really think about keeping a different kind of male?
I would give them a chance! He might surprise you. ;)

Your conversation reminds me of a meme that makes me giggle featuring....

OMG :lau

I don't think he is actually sick, but worry he *could* be a potential reservoir for something that he may be resistant to, but someone else's flock is not. Not sure how likely that really is, but after reading so many posts on this forum from people who got a disease brought into their flock from a free or auctioned chicken, I really don't want to do something irresponsible out of ignorance.

It's still sad, he is so beautiful. The worst part is, my little gray runt, who I think is a female, is really bonded with Big. She (he?) is going to take his absence hard. But this morning I watched him chase the 7 week olds -- both male and female around the yard -- and this isn't behavior I want, and I've got to make some tough calls. I've given myself one more week to make a final decision. Hate, hate this part of flock management. :(

Aw that's sad! But definitely don't want to spread disease or encourage that kind of behavior. Maybe he will grow out of it and you can keep both?

Me neither. Closest I get is that I make Pumpkin Rolls. And only during the holiday seasons of Thanksgiving and Christmas. In fact, that is my son's choice of "cake" for his birthday. He asks me to make him one every yr.

I love pumpkin pie.

But no thanks on some of this other seasonal stuff like pumpkin lattes and pumpkin beer.

I like some pumpkin stuff. Used to hate pumpkin pie but like it now, though it's not my favorite and still kinda ehh to me. Much prefer fruit pies. Love pumpkin bread though. Hate coffee so naturally hate pumpkin lattes lol like pumpkin tea with milk and sugar and the salted caramel tea with the same :drool but caffeine or at least tea gives me anxiety and also digestive issues/pain so sadly I can't drink those anymore :hit

If I could be bothered I would follow up with the hospital to complain about the poor IV management. I think I posted the nasty photo while I was drugged up, but the site was disgusting with old smelly blood pooled under the tape. From what I gather from my family, they didn’t clean or change it during the entire stay, including after rough seizures.
Hmph.

Anyways. You don’t train dogs to mop, you train them to lay on their sides, and then train your children to push them around the wet tiles. Works for me.

You should so it doesn't happen to anyone else.

I just spilled my drink on my keyboard out of shock....

Whoops, sorry :lau

I like it!

I can't speak for every medical institution but the standard of care is to change an IV site (peripheral like yours) every 72 hours or obviously with any kind of infiltration. Some leakage of blood is normal but if it was actively leaking with the IV infusion....time to change!!! I'm sorry you went through that Tess. It's a scenario like that, that gives us nurses a bad rep. :hit

I want this bunny....NOW!!! White fluffy bunny!!!! :love:wee:love

Look up Angora rabbit, Lionhead, lion lop, american fuzzy lop. All fluffy and all come in white

I really want to keep him. I think it would be so cute to have lavender crossed with black. Would that turn in to possible blue chicks? Or would black be dominant? I am trying to remember exactly what I read in the threads on genetics. I swear it comes across as "wah wah wah" (charlie brown teacher speak) when I read it. LOL

I picked me up a calendar for next yr. This is the earliest I have ever gotten one. Normally I wait until they're marked down but I couldn't resist. I got it at TSC. I liked the painting of it.

While I was there, I saw this cute stuffed animal. Hen with a baby chick.

I just thought it was cute. I swear I have become chicken obsessed. :lau I guess there is still hope for me because I didn't buy it. I was tempted tho lol.
