I think there's a thread about the nose bump, if I recall correctly the consensus was the bird probably bumped his upper beak area on something hard so a bump formed.

Sometimes they have those growths...doesn't seem to bother them and I don't think it's like a cancerous growth. I think but don't know for sure, that they seem to appear on those that got pecked when they were just hatched and for a couple of weeks of age.

I've noticed it on my pheasant chicks and it becomes very pronounced if it is bleeding from the pecking, kinda like scar tissue! That's just my observation, I don't know with absolute certainty.

I just noticed it this morning.
I was thinking a bruise like thing but wasn't sure.
I am going to look back through my million pictures and see if it has been there or if it is new.

This is Noah. He’s starting to get in his male colors. His chest colors are starting to turn a burgundy color. You can see the starting of white feathers around his neck coming in for the white ring they get. And he’s getting quite a bit of grey feathers on his underbelly and in his body feathers. I see more dark feathering coming in on his head around the bill. I’m sure his mallard green will be coming in on his head before too long. Is just neat to watch happen.

Thx She is doing great! She hasn't had any more health problems at all. She's grown so much and is so active. Seems to have made a 100% recovery.

This is too often an occurrence. Cows just meandering and/or grazing on my property. Usually there is about 5 of them. Just 2 this time finally heading back up into the woods behind my house to go back home. No they aren’t mine. They are my neighbors who don’t know how to do proper fencing. Good fences make good neighbors y’all!

I don't know how it is there but here, the ranchers made the laws. If you don't want the neighbor's cows on your property here, it is your responsibility to fence them out.

Unfortunately we are a "fence in" state. Now stuff happens and animals can escape. Accidents (and life) happen. So in those instances I can understand being reasonable. I know there are some exceptions and not everything is just black and white. But there is a provision if the "livestock is habitually escaping" where the livestock owner can and will be held responsible. Otherwise I can't even fathom how it is even reasonable that because you can't properly take care of YOUR animals then it is somehow my fault and I have to pay for it. That just doesn't make sense to me. Pfft! I don't care what the law says. If you can't take care of what you have, you shouldn't have animals. Period. I feel that way about other animals as well. That's just my opinion. My neighbors are lucky that we're nice people. Some people can be real jerks and could make their lives miserable. We're not like that. I just call them and let them know their cows are out and vent elsewhere to keep the peace. Supposedly they are getting out of the animal breeding/selling/farming business. I can only hope.
