Poll Fairy - does pets mean mental health treatment? Or would that be other? I marked both to be sure.

Also, does Kiki still think me eating my pets is morbid? They taste like chicken!
I eat my pets now too! :woot

Poll fairy...what does other mean?
Dunno, but I put it there for something like fly tying/fighting cocks/whatever.

Means pets to me.

I wonder...how long does it take to grow them out?
What I've been reading is that gestation is roughly one month, and the little rabbits should be ready to eat at about 8-12 weeks. A good meat breed is supposed to get to 5 pounds by 8-10 weeks. If you let them go longer they will get bigger but can be tougher.

Hi Tes! :hugs
Great to see you!
Hi there! Great to see you (all of you!) too!!
That’s great news. :) The chicks still doing well?
Yes ma’am, they’re all happy and healthy. I need to get some new photos, they’re big chicks now. Floppy is the wussiest cockerel in the world, but we mutually ignore each other.

Also, good news! We’re moving!! Bad news... the potential neighborhood we’re looking at doesn’t allow livestock.
IF we do get this house (offer has already been made) and IF we get along with our neighbors for a couple months and they’re cool with it, then I will try and smuggle them into the backyard. We’ll see. My mom is okay with looking after them for a couple months, but worst case scenario I permanently give them to my mother-in-law.

Be careful with neighbors, we just had to go last night and retain an attorney because a neighbor does not like what we do on our property. And what we are doing is allowed and legal....

I can confirm that rabbit pregnancy is roughly four weeks long. I've never tasted rabbit but I grew up having them as pets. Baby bunnies are the cutest things in the world. Personally, I think they would be the hardest for me to dispatch. I don't think I even realized that people ate rabbits until I was in high school. Orlando, Florida is not prime hunting country.

Are you moving so that you can start school full time again, or are you staying in the area?

Yea for sure. We’re going to be very careful about it; I don’t want to step on any toes so if neighbors aren’t down then they’ll just have to go to my MIL. I just want to make it work really badly... kinda sucks that after all the reasons I got chickens, I would have to give them up just as life is looking up. Oh well. They will be happy and loved either way.

Yep, moving to finish my bachelors and continue onto vet school at A&M. I am beyond excited. We’re negotiating offers right now and waiting for a house inspection to come back, everything is moving really fast. If everything continues to work out then we’ll be moving over Christmas!
