Well, it finally happened. What I was hoping wouldn't but knew it would. Bowie and Elvis got in a fight. Bowie is all bloody. Elvis got Bowie's comb really good in a few places. No real damage to Elvis. Since Bowie is.. well.. was head honcho up until this point, whom do I take away/separate? Do I leave Bowie and put Elvis in time out or do I leave Elvis and bring in Bowie until he heals up? Or do I leave them both and hope Elvis realizes he won this round and leaves Bowie alone? I know they have to work it out so I'm trying to keep that in mind as well.

Do they have a large area to be in? If so, then I’d leave them be. If it’s small then I’d try to separate.

Sleeping quarters is small and cozy. They aren't cramped but is not an area where one can get away from the other. Outside area is great. Lots of room to get away from one another. But it is getting dark and they are, if they haven't already, headed up to sleep for the night. So I didn't know if I should put Bowie back in with them for the night and hope for the best or if he'd continue to get picked on since he was injured?

I just put Bowie back in with the other littles for the night. Am hoping since it's dark that it's a bit calmer. We'll see how things go come morning. :fl
Does he have any exposed redness to him? Can/Do you have any blu-kote or aluspray to put on the wounds? The others will pick at it if they can see it.

We tried wiping him off. His comb is so dark that it kind of blends in? It stopped actively bleeding tho. I swear, I either write a novel of a story or don't write enough to explain what's going on. He is ok. It's just the first fight with visible evidence. With him being white it was quite noticeable. I know with some animals if they are around an "injured" animal that it might get ganged up on/picked on. Animals just sense that kind of stuff sometimes. And with Bowie taking the dominant role and starting to mate with the others, knowing which one to properly remove from the situation was my main concern. The whole pecking order thing and trying to not make it worse. They ended up in a corner area so I think that made it worse. We will see how they are in the morning and see how they do. As long as it doesn't become an obsessive and fixated thing I think they will be ok. We will definitely keep a close eye on them. If it becomes obsessive, I will have a tough decision to make.

It sounds like you have a good idea of what is going on, and what to do. :) Hopefully they are just being rowdy boys and will knock it off soon.

I'm trying. I hope so. I know I have so much yet to learn. This site is invaluable for it's wealth of information, people's experiences and expertise.
