Have to agree. I'm an EE girl, all the way. Mine are excellent foragers and quick on their feet. My EE girls are also my friendliest and most curious of my standard group. It doesn't hurt that no two look alike, either. Easter Eggers, for the win!
Ducks are the best. In fact, @KDOGG331, skip the chickens and get three ducks. They are superior to chickens in every way. Cuter, hardier, better tasting eggs, longer laying life depending on the breed (I have a variety and they are all over four years old... I have a couple that just started laying again with zero light). Did I mention that they are cuter?I love my ducks. I can just sit out there and watch them. I love that they'll come over to the fence and greet me if they hear me come in the yard. They'll even get out of the pool and come over to chatter to me. I love em!
Seems like they are always the most insane as juveniles, but they really develop some neat personalities after they start laying, don't you think? I have one right now that is just bonkers. Totally skittish. Of course, she's the prettiest one. No eggs from the late September group as of yet, but they're a nice looking group.
I believe there was mention of a seasonal pond? Methinks a sort of prophecy?
