The Marek's shot doesn't prevent them from getting the disease and constantly passing it on to everyone.
Just say no.
Sometimes The Brady Bunch.Only?
I'm envisioning a Quentin Tarantino level of slaughter.Just a few, wont go into detail. My hands were pretty beat up, but no infection, all healing well (except the possum )
Urs did you get pictures?I'm envisioning a Quentin Tarantino level of slaughter.
I vote no to all add ons. What about any of the other stuff that they try to offer? Like that grogel or vital packs? Can I just bring a dish with some hydro-hen water or nutridrench stuff? Or are those nice to have right at the onset?
Since I am going to order chicks from Meyers... should I have them vaccinate for Mareks or not worry about it? None of my other chickens have been vaccinated but I've never ordered from here so I just don't know. Is it worth it? What are ya'lls opinions?
I vote HECK NO don't do it.
Do you think you run the risk of a scenario like when a lot of people go and get a flu shot? I know it is reported repeatedly that the shot doesn't get you sick but it messes with your immune system or something and SOME PEOPLE, maybe not all, but SOME will get sick afterwards. Every single time. So just using that as an example and not a literal thing... could it be like that? Am I making sense? LOL![]()
HA! They tolerate me as long as I'm tossing out kibble.![]()
Oh, gross.Sometimes The Brady Bunch.
KDog isn't going to like my posts. You decided to order from Meyer’s!? YAY!and I vote yes! I vaccinated my original flock and also chose to vaccinate this current one. To me it is worth the extra expense and extra insurance. Plus I am paranoid lol but we have a lot of wild birds around too.
Curious why you say not? Any particular reason?
I think you are overthinking itI had all mine vaccinated and they have never been sick or anything and are all perfectly healthy, happy, and lay well. Don’t seem to be immune compromised or anything. Plus I just thought of this, that since my current ones are vaccinated and birds can carry it and not show symptoms, if I didn’t vaccinate the new ones and then they developed it cause my flock had it and I didn’t know it, I would feel awful about it. But on the same token, since none of yours are vaccinated, if you got the new ones vaccinated, they could maybe carry it and get your other flock sick?
Lol
