➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

What are you crossing them with to bring in the rose comb? That sounds like a really interesting project.
Like everyone else, I crossed the Cream Legbars with Rose Comb Brown leghorns. I used a Legbar rooster over the Brown Leghorn hens but you can do it either way. The Rose Comb is dominant so you know right away if the offspring are carrying that trait. All of the first generation offspring will have one blue egg gene and one white egg gene. Unfortunately breeding the white egg gene back out takes a little longer.

Physically the offspring are autosexing just like legbar chicks.

worthwhile project for your cold climate... I am going to get some dark cornish, I hope.
Are their combs dominate also?

So the weird dreams I had when I retired in 2012 involved getting called out to work for various things, or at least waking up thinking I had heard the work issued nextel chirp.
A couple of times I got dressed and when I couldn't find the chirper I realized it had been a dream :gig
One time I had dreamed my boss saying he would figure out how to pay me:gig

Dog can lay on the sofa. Absolutely no male dogs or cats inside at all fixed or not
All my indoor pets are males. The only cat that ever sprayed in my house was a female and my old pit/lab used to spite piss on the floor. Never had my boys behave like that.

Wow! Those are good looking. :love They did keep their type really well, the combs look like they will hold up nicely in the more cold areas as opposed to the regular comb. It also takes away the floppiness that legbars usually have in their combs which I personally dislike.
