People in my house have a tendency to move stuff and lose it, break it, etc. and also I don’t want water and salt spilling all over everything and/or ruining the hygrometers.

Psst, KDog, they need to be in air tight jars to accurately calibrate them.People in my house have a tendency to move stuff and lose it, break it, etc. and also I don’t want water and salt spilling all over everything and/or ruining the hygrometers.![]()

Did you squeeze all the air out of the baggies? It looks like it in the pic. Should have some air in the bag, so it can circulate/equilibrate throughout the baggie.
X2 @Texas Kiki , most of the time we don't have any kind of pool's of water just standing around...unless a hurricane has come in or their 'swimming pools'.You don’t have those in Texas? It’s like a temporary pool/pond that forms in spring after a bunch of rain. Can last anywhere from like a day or two, a few days, a few weeks, etc. the frogs and such use them for breeding and lots of other animals for breeding or drinking or whatever.
Out in West Texas or in the Panhandle, we call them 'buffaloe wallows'!

Also make sure they are air tight.

Before you even put anything in the baggie, you blow some air in it, seal it, and then lightly squeeze it and see if any air is leaking out.I didn’t on purpose/intentionally but it does kind of look that way.... whoops.. :/ should I open it and add some air??? Or find a different container. It’s like 1am here though so I might just try calibrating in this first then find another jar. And how do I be sure of that?
I do like those kind of pools better!! But I also kinda like having all the green and water around.
I like that name much better!!

Just go with it this first time. The next run you can make the adjustments...you'll be able to see the differences between the two different ways you calibrated.Ohhh. Whoops.... so is it too late Should I take everything out and test another bag or??
