➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Nanners the color of your hair, I LOVE IT.
Do you color it that color?
Thank you! No, it is natural. About 12 years ago I decided to go gray...it turned out almost platinum.

Do you have any Saxony duck eggs available? You were going to separate and put in breeding pens last I heard?
I haven't separated them yet. Morgan is breeding a Pekin hen and a Cayuga/Pekin cross. His daughter is running with a Cauyga crested drake.
I have a note on my calendar to let you know when they are sequestered.

Wow! Two days of duck eggs? How many do you have and what breed? I would love some. What would you charge to ship to TX? :) My goofballs are still laying in the pond or on the bank and they are being eaten before I can get to them.

I am not NPIP. There are 28 in the flock.
The drakes I have are Pekin, Cayuga, Cayuga/?Mallard, Cayuga/Pekin, Blue Swedish and Saxony.
The hens are Cayuga, Pekin, Cayuga/Pekin, Saxony/Pekin, Swedish/Pekin, Swedish/Cayuga, and one Saxony hen.
I have a crested gene in the Cayuga flock too.
If you are still interested then PM me your address.

Of the 40 I set the other day, I candled early and moved 8 questionable to the end of the tray to double check at 10 days.

I went crazy today. I bought various seeds, just not as many as last yr so hopefully I will have better luck. I bought some salad mix stuff. It has Arugula, Red leaf lettuce and Spinach. Multicolored carrots just because I think they look neat. They're called "Kaleidoscope Blend". If you've seen Rainbow Chard, they basically look like that, only they're carrots. I've never had them. I'm excited. I got sweet peppers likes that too. They're called "Carnival Blend". We'll see how they do. Cucumbers, Lima Beans, Cabbage, Baby Choi, Zucchini, Squash (not the crook neck kind), Corn, Pumpkin, Watermelon and this other kind of "Melon". It is just a yellow melon and the pkg says "Early Silver Line". On the back of the pkg it says, "Unique, elongated oriental 1-2lb melon. White, crisp flesh, sweet and fragrant." I like fruit so we'll see how they turn out. I got some herbs. Basil, Oregano, Parsley, Dill, Rosemary, Thyme, Lavender and Chamomile. Oh, and I got some red potatoes, sweet potatoes, green and purple asparagus and garlic. And I also picked up Blueberry, Fall Gold Raspberry, Nanking Cherry, Seedless Grapes (Lakemont) bushes to plant and 2 Strawberry things to plant. I think it will be like 9 plants of the strawberries. I bought a lot of stuff. I have so much work to do :th
You are going to have a lovely garden!

All of the middles went in to the big coop on their own. :clap I'm happy. :yesss:
:celebrate:celebrate:celebrate

Ok. Thank you! I appreciate that very much. :hugs

Oh boy. It’s been a while since someone has called me Dorothy.

Fun fact, in my A&P course I was called by Kansas instead of my real name because no one could remember it. I thought it was funny though.
Thought I'd dredge that one up for ya :D

There are several breeds that are miniature...

I'm jealous. Melons are something I have such limitations on up here. I grow Charentais every year and they are delightful, but the only reason they ripen is that they are about half pound fruits. I can't seem to get anything else to sweeten up properly before the frost hits.
