➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

ha roo is better than the text slang:
"r u 4 it" instead of "are you for it" I see ads and have no idea what they are saying
and we all use initials .. no one writes out black jersey giant

Exactly!! It’s just easier and faster using abbreviations sometimes. Of course with the short words like are and you I hate seeing r and u cause it’s only 2 extra letters but still. Mostly I use them a lot lol and don’t really think about it or think it’s be different for chicken slang

Some pictures from this morning. Including some of Kiki’s favorite chick :p

Although they are so cute I don’t really want to move them outside LOL
You can keep them in until you can't stand the dust. We won't give you a hard time I promise. But if you move them out it might force you to stay outside longer each day getting work done so you can keep an eye on them. Fresh air does a body good.

Speckled Sussex. They're the sweetest things but mine have all absolutely stunk as layers. Pretty yard ornaments and oh so fluffy.
Ugh...I'm not really a fan of those.
Good for KDog...she can keep here.

Hmmm... that’s true. I think I might put them in the coop this weekend. But this April has just been so COLD so far. I’m worried for them lol they are so tiny! But I know the longer I wait the harder it’s gonna be cause they’ll be so used to the warmth lol

And yes the instincts are amazing! They all went to bed on their own that first night and every night since as soon as it starts getting dark! And they had no problem finding the food, water, and heat. I showed them anyway but still.

Yeah I think they might do better outside. Last time one got pasty.

I think I need to stop being so overprotective lol but they are so LITTLE lol

OMG that sounds hilarious!! And that’s part of why I want to move them outside, I read until they’re like 4 weeks old they still have the run and hide instincts so I want to have them outside getting used to the sounds and threats before then.

That is a good point!! I just worry because they are still so small!! But I think I will have to move them outside!! Or at least give them some dirt inside lol

That’s true!! I guess broody babies are outside immediately.

Tomato tomahto lol I know it is but I have heard people call it cocci for short?? :idunno

A Speckled Sussex!

Thanks! This is helpful!

:lau

I thought yellow chicks were your favorite? :idunno

I’m pretty sure she was too silly!

I mentioned it in this one haha

Yeah I know you won’t but I wanna move them out anyway lol I’m just paranoid and nervous to because they’re so small.

But originally I only wanted them in “for a day or two” to keep an eye on them after shipping.... but now I am attached lol don’t want anything to happen to the little fluff balls!!

But you have a good point about that! Although I won’t really be getting much done anyway lol been unseasonably COLD lately, like 40s, sometimes 50s but barely, and 40s and 30s even at night, and cloudy and rainy. Last week we had like a couple sunny days. But it’s been really cold and gross this week. That’s also part of why I am worried. Today is just RAW. like mid to low 40s, cloudy, and off and on rain/mist, hasn’t really all put rained yet but it’s pretty cloudy and it’s damp and foggy. That’s part of why I don’t want to put them out today. They are used to 60s and 70s in the house in addition to the warm MHP so I don’t really want to just throw them out when it’s in the 40s. But starting tomorrow it is supposed to be mid to high 50s which I think is much more manageable for them. And next week even has some days in the mid 60s. BUT. It is also supposed to rain Saturday and Sunday so idk if I should wait to put them out? Since I won’t want to be out in the rain a bunch to check on them and I wouldn’t want them to get damp and chilled or get coccidiosis or something. Notice I spelled it out that time? :D almost didn’t. Saturday I think it’s supposed to be more just showers and clear up by late afternoon but Sunday is supposed to be like hard rain all day.

Did you tell me what kind she is yet? Did I miss it?

Yes I did, quoted the post at the top, it was a page back, but that post also had a ton of other stuff in it so you probably just missed that one little line where I mentioned considering the novels in the rest of the post! LOL

But she is a Speckled Sussex!!

If sum1 txs me like this.
I dnt rspnd.

:lau yeah that’s annoying. My friend constantly abbreviates everything even really short words lol
