➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I like a good lab, for sure. A nice, solid dog. I'm partial to the chocolates myself, especially those short, stout ones with the block heads.

I personally hate the super short stout ones. I mean, I do much prefer English Labs over American Labs, the super tall and lanky triangle American ones are NOT Labs to me so I prefer block heads too, they have English have better personalities too imo, BUT what I mean/the reason I don’t like them now is they’re breeding them way too short and fat now IMO, they are getting shorter and shorter. They have no leg anymore. Our old Lab was huge. A bull moose. Built like a tank. They’re not like that anymore. If I could find a more moderate, leggy, show Lab, I would be really happy. But they are VERY rare these days.

Fast food places often have something that isn't terrible for you on the menu (like the salads that aren't topped in fried chicken) but then they charge a lot more for them knowing that people like me, pushed into going by travel plans, will pay whatever. I truly don't believe that lettuce costs more than beef, though, and I resent them for taking advantage.

Husband, OTOH, eats out every work day. He's clearly addicted. His body is paying the price. I've offered to pack him the same lunch I pack for the kids. He won't do it. He rationalizes this as needing a break from a stressful job and having his lunch with him would cause him to eat at his desk. But, they have a cafeteria so I pointed out that he could eat there and ask the guy doing Weight Watchers to eat with him. Still no. You just can't reason with addiction!

I'm making sure the kids follow my lead, not his. I have a school paper from 2nd grade where the kids were to answer questions about themselves and draw a picture. One was "What is your favorite fruit?" One of mine responded "cabij" and drew a green ball with wavy lines. They aren't nuggets and applesauce children.

Hm, I suppose that’s true... probably should have just turned around anyway ha but is it still fast food if they make it there?

And that article was really interesting, thanks!!

And note how it says

“Withdrawal peaks around days two to five.”

And that’s about exactly when I started wanting the Five Guys cause I haven’t been on the healthy eating diet thingy in that long hah

Although I didn’t want it to be diet which is another reason I went in. I didn’t want to not eat what I want and/or really craving stuff, I’d rather just eat what I want and then also eat a salad or something (though I didn’t do that either and we went to Panera earlier that day). Idk.

But now I realize that’s probably bad and especially that I realize it says it’s an addiction, that’s like really shitty. I don’t wanna be addicted to some junk burger joint, delicious or not lol so I think I may go back to not eating any of that stuff. At least until I break the addiction and no longer HAVE to go.

I guess I could always make burgers or something here. Although I guess it’s not really a burger if I gotta forego the buns and cheese and condiments ha

Yeah, I hate how they way overprice healthy stuff. And it usually has hidden sugars anyway.

And wow that is definitely addiction! Hah maybe you guys could compromise and offer to make him lunch but he doesn’t have to eat it at work? He could go to where he normally eats out or to a park or something? I am sure the place he eats out at wouldn’t care if he brought his own food in. Maybe he could just buy a water or salad or something from them. Or a park would be pretty. That way he still gets out of the office but it’s healthy. And relaxing. He will probably still say no though ha is this the same one that eats all he potato chips and ice cream and stuff? I couldn’t remember if that was you guys or not.

And OMG :lau lol that’s awesome!!

Really!? That’s so weird to me!!

And caffeinated drinks? We really don’t call them anything different from other drinks? We personally usually just say like I could go for a Coke or an iced tea or like the individual names. Or probably shouldn’t drink caffeine right now. Or my mom loves to say she could go for a fountain soda lol she likes the fountain ones like from a place better than bottle or cans.

Unless you mean carbonated?? In which we call it SODA and not pop. The only correct name for it. :lau
Interesting! In Kansas, it was pop. Here in Texas it’s soda or “a coke” in which I have slowly transitioned to soda from pop. First few years here resulted in heavy snark from school mates whenever pop was used. The first time I said “Can I have a pop?” I literally had to point at the can because they had no idea what I was asking for.

I don't know what I want.
I think I'd rather just have it all more one color...either all lighter or all darker.
I'm not liking the mix of colors...it looks too fake when my hair is not done.
I don't do my hair often.
Streak it....

Hmmm that’s true. Which is why I didn’t get one. That and the milk thing. With the strawberry or vanilla mix ins it adds 20 extra calories. I usually get strawberry but sometimes vanilla. They also have whipped cream which I usually also get which also adds 20 calories. So 670 plus 40 extra calories is 710. Fora damn milkshake  but that’s not even counting the Oreo or PB or whatever other high calorie ones people get but I never do.
Glad you decided on the lesser calorie burger. The small fry was an okay choice....fruit would be better. Yeah for the water!
You made a craving into a safer choice.

@Texas Kiki ...may have cockerel and a pullet based on the shape of the tips of feathers on the base of the neck. Cockerel = pointed tips and Pullet = round tips.
A few more weeks will confirm or negate.

Yeah, my mom’s family in Western PA and my friend from Pittsburgh all call it pop lol

I am glad Texas is on the correct side :lau

Yeah, I’ve heard some people in other areas use coke to mean any soda but I’ve never experienced that here. When my mom says Coke she truly means one. Think she’s addicted to Coke. The soda!!! LOL

And aw sorry you experienced that!!

I’m not sure if they have fruit there. Probably should have just skipped the fries and I was going to but then they asked and I love their fries so I decided to. But if I go back (not planning to though) I think I will skip the fries. Or at least not eat them all like I did last night. And yeah, I usually don’t get soda anyway but usually I get the milkshake but that’s literally an entire extra meal so I skipped it.

But thank you, that was the goal, so glad it wasn’t totally awful.
