So I hate to even ask this cause it sounds like such a newbie question but...at what age do you all stop providing heat for brooded chicks?
My chicks were born June 12 but due to certain circumstances, this year I need to keep them indoors through the first week of July. I am going to try to wean them off indoor heat as fast as I safely can but am wondering if they will be ok outside without heat in early July. Temps should be mild (60's/ low 70s) at night.
Any advice appreciated!
Some will say when they are feathered. I put mine outside with no heat at 2 days. Lows were in the 70’s with a huddle box. They used it. Now they are sitting in a corner near 4 weeks old.So I hate to even ask this cause it sounds like such a newbie question but...at what age do you all stop providing heat for brooded chicks?

At least 5. Possibly 7 depending on how some things work out. Some will say when they are feathered. I put mine outside with no heat at 2 days. Lows were in the 70’s with a huddle box. They used it. Now they are sitting in a corner near 4 weeks old.
How many hatchlings? They can keep each other warm.
