We had a lull between waves of rain so I went out and grabbed Xena's egg and tried to candle all of the eggs real quick. I pulled an obvious bad one. It was completely liquid inside and looked like a lot of blood. :hit

So now we are down to 7. The rest of them seemed to have decent air cells and the insides didn't move around inside, so everything is still attached. It was difficult to see any movement though. I am not seeing obvious veins anymore though so I hope that is normal and just means that they are getting close to hatch time? I'm hoping for the best. :fl

It’s amazing how sharp the claws are/how strong those legs are already on such a little thing lol chick kicks. The ones on the left angled the other direction are from a dog scratch earlier. And I have several older dog scratches on my legs due to shorts season. I am just full of injuries lol that’s what happens when you work with chickens and/or dogs every day and it’s shorts and t shirt weather now :lau I might have to start wearing body armor though. :lau

Last year I had to explain that the odd marks on my hands and arms, were from a broody hen. He had an amazed look on his face, until I explained how the hens become mother bears when caring for hatching eggs and chicks. :lau

ETA: He is my doctor
