➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I've never heard anyone being so successful on picking up a duck and then them just tolerating it. She may enjoy some friends, but chickens are nice even if they don't speak quack.

Neighbor chased it around the yard without her flying off. I chased less than 5 feet. Then grabbed and picked. Very little struggle. Way too easy.
I think she wants a couple little bitty fake street food friends.
I need an excuse to steal these babies!

Mine tolerate me, but catching one is a different story. Lots of members here in the duck forums ask why their ducks go crazy on them and lose their friendliness as they grow up.
So this could be this year's Easter Duckling? Yes, we have idiots around.

You may even consider leaving the wings intact and if she wants to fly off, then so be it??
Considered. Crazy Lady has dogs and they play rough too. If she made it over the chicken kennel fence, the end. Good thought though.

Personally, I think ducks carry much less diseases than chickens or other wild animals. I would still observe good biosecurity, but the chances of her passing anything to your birds is less risky than adopting someone's unwanted chickens.
Thank you for this. I feel better, but feelings only go so far. She is much more feisty today after a good nights rest. Actually struggled when held. We shall see where this goes. I may get fined and evicted. Then I'd have to find that little bit of paradise out in the country.

I think you should. Batty and I want to watch. :D Can you live stream it? I know you can!

Are the geese still around? Do they mind you messing with the ducks?
This is a new to me pond area. I've not see babies around before.
I left the area but have no problem going back to look for them again.
:D

Gosh I really want a few. I wish I could keep them.

Local city park is attracting more and more ducks. We have quite a few now. No gators yet. Guessing the city wouldn't let them stay since a lot of voters use that park. Some voters should be protected.

There are millions of retention ponds around me. They all have ducks living at them.
Geese too.
Good. I hope they eat all the mosquitos these things breed. Not enough or long enough water for fish, but the bugs love these mud holes and eye sores. At least they could land scape them. Cattails and overgrown brush are nice, but mosquitos are terrible.
