➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

@R2elk you look like you have a beautiful place!! :love MY family has been in NOLA for 300 years and I have been torn my whole life between staying here, where I feel I belong, and moving to the country, where I think I would rather be. I really should have been born 200 years ago when the family had both. :lau
We had generations grow up in SW Pennsylvania. When I graduated college, I moved to Wyoming and have never been back to PA since.

i tried moving to the mountains (to me) of Kentucky thinking I was more country, I wasn't
I was back after a couple years. You don't realize what you can go and do till you can't lol
Was a small town girl growing up, but had ties to Grandma's place. Second time married a country boy who also worked in the city and we looked for a farm. Between Momma's love for gardening, Grandma and hubby's mom, I transitioned to a country girl: gardening, canning, quilting, farm medic, cow mid-wife and chicken addict. :lau:gig
We live close enough to my home town (15 minute drive) and can drive into OKC for culture and specialty doctors (hour drive).

I’ve been up like almost all night with something (idk what, maybe food poisoning or the norovirus?) and frick I think this is the sickest I’ve ever been in my entire life. :hit :sick:barnie hopefully it’s almost over though. :fl especially cause we have to catch a ferry in a couple hours and then drive all the way home. :hit

I think surely I must be about out of liquids though, not to be TMI, so I think it should be over soon. :fl

But I’ve been waking up about every 2 hours, hour and a half.

Sucks. Barely slept. But now I gotta get up to get ready. :hmm

Also my dad has been sick all night too so I’m thinking food poisoning but then my mom hasn’t been sick so idk. I just hope it ENDS though. :hit

I was doing pretty well on the ferry and on the ride home and started being able to keep some stuff down like sipping some water and small bites of a salted soft pretzel from the ferry cafe and some saltine crackers but my joints still hurt on the ride home/body ache and now I am feeling like I am getting heat stroke or a heart attack and convincing myself I need to go to the ER.

And I’m starting to think I might have more than food poisoning. Idk. I am still somewhat sick, although not nearly as bad as before, but definitely still occasionally getting sick, not to mention, the almost worse part, still have bad body aches and joint pain, and my chest is super tight. Idk if that’s just allergies or anxiety or something though? I kinda feel like I’m starting to get heat stroke or something too because last time I got it I got really anxious and out of it first. Not out of it yet but anxious. And it is the perfect storm for it: 91 degrees out today, a day where I SHOULD be drinking tons of water, and staying cool, but instead I have been losing a ton of fluids and having to go slow putting them back in so I don’t lose them again. At least now I am starting to be able to keep stuff down the last few hours but still. Probably have lost way more than I am taking in. I think I need to just lay down in a cool, dark room and relax. But I’m getting a bit worried.

Also I was going to take an epsom salt bath, thinking it might help to draw any remaining toxins out and just help ease my joints, or rehydrate/balance me but it is wayyyyyy too hot for a bath and I feel hot as it is. I think maybe I need a cold shower and then lay down.

And I know I need to stop worrying about it, cause it doesn’t help and I’m a bit of a hypochondriac sometimes and I was doing well not worrying about it cause I went on a nice little walk down the driveway and checked the chickens and garden, to distract myself, but now I’m back inside and still worried. I am going to just try the fluids approach but of course I am jumping to conclusions and paranoid I need to go to the hospital or something.

@KDOGG331 I hope you're feeling better! I had salmonella poisoning once from restaurant chicken and I was sick for 3 days. It was really, really scary to feel that lousy. And it is definitely possible for three people to eat at the same place and only two get sick. I was the only one out of four who got sick from the chicken but they were individual pieces so perhaps mine was the only one that was mishandled.
