➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Phew. That took waaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy too long to type all those replies and I’m sure it will take you guys way longer to read them if you don’t just skip over them. :lau sorry

I had replied to all the fun/random ones too but then I accidentally deleted them all and now I’m way too tired so I’m not going back. Sorry. Haha

Anyway, almost 6am now so I REALLY have to get to sleep now. I just wanted to have that posted before I went to bed since I know I tend to wake up a lot later than everyone else and wanted to give you all a head start on the reading. :lau

Anyway, goodnight. Or good morning?? I have a feeling I am going to need a nap today. :lau

But I am not going to let it stop me from being productive. I know you are all probably rolling your eyes right now but I am determined to be extremely productive today and actually get something done even though I got like no sleep. I actually find sometimes I work best on no sleep and just napping oddly haha

I think I might clean my room since it is supposed to rain today. Or maybe start applying for jobs. Or finish the Rover app. I think the job thing is most important but I also have to get my room and the storage room/my old room cleaned out because I am sure my moms family will want to tour the house since they haven’t been here in so long. Wedding is only 6 weeks away so not much time to do it. It seems like a lot but there is A LOT of cleaning and organizing that needs to be done and I tend to get really overwhelmed whenever I start that too, having NO clue where to begin, and usually just take stuff out and start to sort it and then just quit. Or cry. I once cried cause I got so overwhelmed. :lau  that was only once though.

But this will be a big project ha

I am terrible at prioritizing though so I don’t really know where to begin or what I should do first. I assume the job but honestly the house needs to be clean and clutter/junk free. I can only control my room.
Go buy 6 plastic see thru storage bins. Start cleaning/organizing there.
One bin each for 6 different things. Find all of the first thing, say books, in the room and fill the bin. If the bin gets full of that item get a trash bag. Put the rest in a bag.
Pick only what will fit in that one bin to keep... The rest donate.

I know all of that already which I’m working on it. Of course it wouldn’t go well right now but I’m finally working on it. I know I haven’t at all before and I get it, it pisses people off, but I finally am. But it’s also not as easy as just waltzing in somewhere and getting hired on the spot. There’s a lot that needs to happen first and I think as long as I’m taking the steps toward it that should count for something.

And I don’t have any chip on my shoulder but there’s a difference between constructive criticism and just being unnecessarily rude. There are better, kinder ways to phrase things that would have worked just as well or better without making someone feel like shit. That’s all I’m saying.

I don’t have any problem with what was said but how it was said.

But whatever.

I don’t really care because I’ve had a great day so far and I plan to keep it that way.
You have 6 weeks to clean your rooms before the wedding correct?
6 weeks is a looonnngggg time.

I am positive you could find a job in 6 weeks.

I think you should use that 6 weeks mark as your goal to both get a job and clean up your rooms.

As a person with lots of stuff... It's very hard to throw it away... It's easier to donate to someplace that can use it... and that's not easy either
Stuff takes the place of other things that are missing in a person's life
It's very complicated and if you can throw stuff out you can't understand why some people can't.
But one has to start somewhere and work at it

Also I went to a new dentist today and they did a WAY better job and I got a WAY better cleaning than I ever got at my old dentist or really ever.

I was there probably over an hour.

The poor girl spent forever scaling all the old hardened plaque away haha

But now they look great imo and honestly, I was kind of embarrassed by the plaque before, it was really bad on the bottom and quite ugly and different colors, so I kind of hid it. But now it’s literally all gone, which I never ever thought was even possible, and also what I thought was teeth crowding, a lot of it was just hardened plaque, so they also don’t look as crowded now and there’s gaps again without the plaque and I already feel way more confident and actually excited for once to apply for jobs and everything since my teeth don’t look like shit anymore haha

Also there was this like black/brown spot on or between one tooth too that we all (parents and I) all thought was rot or something that would never come off. That came right off too.

The other dentist NEVER once mentioned any of this or how bad plaque is for my gums or anything.

These people were so thorough and took the time to explain so much too and how to prevent it and what brush to use and that I should maybe have more regular cleanings and everything to stay on top of the plaque etc.

The other people never explained anything, never offered to fix the black spot, or scale the plaque or anything. It was always like 15 minutes at most. Quick brush and floss and “oh they look great” and out the door. These people took so much time and even the doctor was nicer. Not that the other people weren’t nice, their hygienists are so sweet, but these people just took so much more time.

And these are gum specialists too and I actually went there about 10, 11 years ago and had a graft done on my lower gums, so we thought we’d go get my gums checked and get a good cleaning from these people before the wedding. I had no idea they would be THIS good.

And also surprisingly they said despite all the build up (so much build up) and the bleeding (sooo much), my gums actually look really good and the graft is holding up well. So that’s good news at least.

I think I am just lucky to have naturally good genetics or something.

Most people if they neglected their teeth as long as I have, regularly forgot to brush, ate so much sugar, whatever, their teeth would have all rotted out of their heads by now ha

So I actually feel very fortunate and lucky that hasn’t happened yet and actually now feel extremely motivated to take care of them and KEEP them looking good and hopefully eventually get them white too!! :D

Cause tbh I have severely neglected dental hygiene.

Lately I’ve been better about it and do it a lot more regularly but now I’m gonna go like the whole 9 yards haha brushing twice a day at least or even after every meal, flossing, mouthwash, maybe try oil flossing occasionally, etc. every single day. They’re gonna look so good.

And now if I just get my hair done and maybe some make up or at least fix my pores, I can take a good profile picture soon for Rover as well as start applying to jobs/interviewing. :D

Oh and I don’t really eat sugar or anything anymore and have been better with eating healthier but still, my point is I did for a while. And often would eat, sugar or otherwise, right before bed too without brushing.

But I’ve been way better lately. I go through phases. But no more phases. I’m going to 100% keep them clean and keep them looking good and no plaque or gross shit. I’m also a mouth breather though so the plaque dries on faster but that doesn’t mean I can’t just work harder and keep on top of it.

I’m honestly excited though. They look so good. :D

Still a bit yellow but that will improve with time and better care.

Awesome!

Ditch the old dentist...don't ever go back to that idiot.

Only ONE bin!? OMG! I don’t think that is going to work LOL

I have soooo much stuff.

The biggest I think are clothes (there are A LOT of clothes I never wear and would gladly get rid of), books, CDs, and band merch. Maybe CDs count towards that ha my closet and both rooms are full of books and I have a third room downstairs that’s not really mine but truly more of storage/random crap, that we moved most of my band merch too a long time ago so it wouldn’t fill up my room. But yet my room is full again ha

I have bins and bins and bins of JUST merch. Posters, vinyls, shirts, CDs, sweatshirts, wristbands, etc. just miscellaneous stuff ha

I think the main problem is I just have too much STUFF haha

And random crap I’ve bought on Amazon or at Walmart or whatever.

It’s bad.

I don’t think I could ever get rid of the merch and keep hoping when I get my own place I’ll have room to display it all or most of it but a lot of the CDs I just got at like thrift stores or the dump (free) or whatever and could get rid of. The ones I’ve bought at shows or online/direct from bands I don’t think I could. But there’s a lot of random ones I never listen to. I probably have hundreds or possibly into the thousands now of CDs haha I don’t think it’s quite thousands yet, maybe high hundreds, but who knows.

And there is a lot of other just junk I could probably part with that would help a lot.

I think my main thing is I just have too much stuff and nowhere to put it. I think bins or some shelves or something would help a lot with that.

But then even with the CDs I keep saying “well what if I want to listen to that”

You have 6 weeks to clean your rooms before the wedding correct?

That’s a good goal but it also seems a little lofty. Idk. To go from completely doing nothing to totally clean room and a job in only 6 weeks... gonna be a total shock to my system haha

Honestly willing to try though since I know we’ve JUST been discussing this exact thing haha

No more excuses.

But I do have one genuine concern. Or at least I think. Tell me if it’s not. If I get a job now, they surely won’t let me ask off so soon after hiring me? Maybe I request that time off when I apply? Since it’s important? You know, for the wedding and stuff ha I would need the weekend though at least not just one day but maybe they’ll still let me? That’d be like the only time I’d need off ever haha since I never do anything :lau

Maybe I am putting the cart before the horse again?

As a person with lots of stuff... It's very hard to throw it away... It's easier to donate to someplace that can use it... and that's not easy either

Thanks, yeah I think that’s my biggest issue. I have such a hard time parting with anything. :(

I can get rid of some stuff so I’m not totally incapable but I keep saying well what if I want to use that or most of it I forget I had then discover while cleaning. :lau

My mom is the same way and the whole house is a disaster. And her room is WAY worse than mine and for a while you couldn’t even really walk in because there was so much stuff and piled so high but now it’s better and you can walk through a lot of it now but there is still SO much stuff. So I think I definitely inherited that negative trait from her haha

And she always says she’s not a hoarder cause she can get rid of stuff or sell it which is true but then she always just fills it up with more. Take one thing, bring back 5 more. And certain things you CANNOT get rid of or touch.

And I’m honestly the same way. I can get rid of some but then other things that I should be able to, I can’t.

Which is why I get so overwhelmed.

Awesome!

Yeah that’s the plan haha

Although the problem is this guy is technically a gum guy so you’re technically supposed to be a perio patient to use him so I don’t know if the insurance will cover it but they sent it in anyway and hopefully it will. :fl

The other guy is nice enough but honestly sucks. My brother went to him for a chipped tooth and he says he made it worse, made with teeth uneven or filed off like a quarter inch off the bottom of them all or something or at least off one so it’s uneven or something like that and he’s extremely self conscious about it.

We only go to this guy cause my dad and his whole family always have.

Which is quite frankly a stupid reason lol

Somebody looks like a camel with his IV fluids this morning.

@biophiliac
He weighed in at 4 lb 3 oz today.
View attachment 1876587

The little dummy ate something that he shouldn't have that was accidentally spilled on the floor.
It upset his tummy a little bit too much.
He is fine now.
Poor faker!

Okay, I have been playing today....trying to be creative.

Hubby gets one of his medicines shipped to him in huge styrafoam chests. Some are really big for his small package of meds. They come with freezer bags too.
image.jpeg
We get long straps with our cattle spray. I have kept those straps to "use" for some good purpose.
The styro chests I have given to family to use as ice chests for travel, etc.
Hubby suggested using some straps to make carry handles for the ice chests to use in the tractors and trucks....they already carry frozen water bottles in small insulated lunch bags but both ran out of water yesterday.
So....he suggested leaving the styro chest in the original box to keep the chest clean....guess it could be covered with plastic contact paper for a while....but here is my first creation....with and without the box. The sketch is in the last photo. Had to make two sizes. Without the box I can make a pleat in the surround strap.

It's perfectly acceptable to have a prior commitment that you disclose in a job interview. Not a big deal. They aren't going to pay you for that time off but it isn't a valid reason to defer looking.

When I bring in something new I get rid of something... So when I go to buy something I think what am I willing to get rid of and get rid of it before I buy something new... really slows down buying stuff.

I built a strap carrier almost exactly like that for an ice chest that the handle broke. It works very well!
