➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Not me! Not tonight conan! Guess what! It's Friday night with no work or school tomo and no studying due! You know what that means?! Mommy drinks!
I'm a bit jealous. I'm saving myself, though. My cousin is up for a conference in Tacoma tomorrow and she gets a fancy hotel paid for. I will be joining her, and taking advantage of the pool. Restaurants and bars abound. I have lofty aspirations of Japanese ramen, but we're kinda trashy so we'll probably just end up eating greasy burgers at a dive.

You're a cruel man, Elko. A cruel, cruel man.
You are not the first to make that claim.
That crust looks wicked awesome. Recipe?
I have an even better recipe for a crust that people really like but I don't use it any more because I am lazy. The recipe for this crust is

3 cups flour
1 tbsp sugar or sucralose
1 tsp salt
1 cup Crisco
cold water as needed.

Cut shortening into dry ingredients until well mixed. Add cold water as needed and mix in with a fork until nearly combined. Use hands for final incorporation. Divide dough in half and form into patties. Place each patty into a separate plastic bag and put in refrigerator while making filling.

Makes a top and bottom crust for one 9" or 10" pie with enough left over to make an apple dumpling.

Banty is far more clever in her insults than I. Of course, she fears me now, so that helps.

:lau nonsense!! You are hilarious and clever and witty too!!!

And OMG :lau

Well we still need another round! Lol

Way, way back when I was doing volunteer work at a hospital, I got to assist the respiratory therapist. That was over 50 years ago.

That’s awesome!

My life is so boring!

Nahhh!!!

Sounds amazing tbh :lau

Nonsense. Never say you're bored. Or you'll get more chores. Dems the rules.

:lau I’m the furthest thing from bored rn. You guys are so entertaining!!

Not bored! Boring! My life is boring my most accounts but I'm NEVER bored! I love every single second of it. And I saved myself long enough. I worked my butt off all summer long filling in for vacations and now that the first week of school has kicked off and I've got a break, this momma is going to ENJOY! It don't take much. A bottle of wine and some BYC. I'm an easy keeper.

Gotcha. When I worked at the bakery many years ago, we used a very similar recipe with delicious results. You chill first before rolling out?
I don't really have Crisco around at home so I usually end up using coconut oil/butter combo. I think I do an egg and a tablespoon of vinegar as well.

I'm pretty sure you can do whatever you want, lady, and justly so.

You deserve it!!! You’re awesome!

Hey, btw, does anyone have any desserts? I don’t drink but I could go for some brownies or maybe some of that pie or....

Crisco! A kitchen staple!
