➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I’m obsessed with the Freak Out ride haha do you guys have anything like that near you? Called Xtreme Frisbee at this other park near us but basically the same thing. It goes way up in the sky and spins. Used to be terrified of it but honestly it’s so fun lol especially at night with the lights and music playing cause you can dance/it’s more fun and they go higher with less little kids on it. :lau

This ride is called The Vortex at our nearest amusement park and the kids and I have been on it MANY times. It's a ride I was afraid of but went on anyway because I wanted to conquer my irrational fear. And it is fun! There isn't a ride in that park I haven't been on and I've survived them all. It's a pretty big deal for me.

:lau what even is this emoji? I did finally go to sleep (if you can call it that... more on that in a second) just after 10. And not because of the phone, just because I took like a half hour shower. :lau :hide

Anyway, as for the “sleep if you can call it that” bit. I didn’t sleep at all. Or didn’t feel like it. Maybe I did. Idk. I would lay there forever then I guess I must have dozed off some but would wake up and lay there again. Probably woke up every hour and a half to two hours. And then I finally started sleeping a little bit more and better this morning, got maybe a few hours in, but had to keep switching sides of the bed this morning cause I’d get uncomfortable or hot on one.

Anyway, long story short, the shower helped temporarily, but the headache still didn’t go away and then came back HARD when I was trying to sleep. So I really couldn’t sleep because it hurt so bad and I was still a little bit nauseous.

I should have gotten up and taken a Tylenol PM but I hadn’t eaten anything yet and didn’t want to cause it was so late and I get sick taking anything on an empty stomach. And also usually with my migraines the drugs just end up coming back up anyway. :lau :hide

Thankfully I kept everything down but still. My head was pounding so bad especially earlier this morning. It has finally chilled out a little bit because I tried hard to sleep this morning but still bad.

I’m gonna have to take an Excedrin.

It’s just annoying because I was hoping going to bed would fix it and instead it made it worse and this morning it’s worse than last night cause it’s like my head and neck and it’s pounding whereas last night was mostly just pressure.

But oh well.

Gonna still try to get stuff done today. Raining today so I’ll do some inside stuff.

I think I will be perfectly fine once I take an Excedrin or two. That stuff works really well for me.

I was just hoping I wouldn’t have to take any drugs and would be fine today but I guess my body had other plans. :lau

But I made myself breakfast and just finished it and already starting to feel a bit better now that I’ve been up a bit and eaten something but still gotta go get some Excedrin.

Those are my favorite kind of rides. I especially like the little egg cage one that you can sin yourself so you can hang upside down or Rick back and forth or flip as much as you want to, all while it's going in circles like a ferris wheel.

Tbh I’m still scared of that one :lau :hide

But might have to try it haha

Just what kind of sinning did you have in mind?
Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

:lau

I hate how my autocorrect changes things. Like "goldens" to "Golden's". And I'm too lazy to fix it but then I decide I care later. I'm and obsessive late editor of posts.

Yes it always changes my stuff too!! Even words that are spelled correctly sometimes cause it thinks I mean something else!! Ummm... no. If I did I would have typed that haha it’s good for correcting my mistakes though when I’m typing fast and convenient so I don’t have to go back and do it haha like even right now typing this paragraph I have made sooo many typos and/or forgotten letters and it fixed them all lol

Oops! You didn't give me long enough to go back and edit that one. Crap! Can I say "crap" on here? Oh well. I'm sure I do alll kinds of sinning, but that's supposed to say "spin". Good heavens!

:lau

Pretty sure you meant rocking too not Rick LOL

I knew exactly what you meant. I am an old man and have a dirty mind.

:lau

Hehehe! No worries! I thought it was hilarious. Dirty jokes are my faves!

:lau

:lau omg lol

I can read these all day! They make me laugh harder than anything else in the WORLD! I think I mentioned before that I'm childish!

:lau me too haha I laugh at the dumbest stuff sometimes but it’s funny to me

I can also read them all day :gig

@sdm111 the very old dial thermostat doesnt really work, but if i turn it any lower than it is, the bill goes thru the roof. It reads 66 on the temp gun so could be + or - 1.5 degrees. Set to 76. One day we will get past this rental stage.

I’m gonna need to go read some of those lol

Thank you for the reminder.
Triumph is my heart dog. I can’t stand watching him get old. He will be kept up to date on his kidney and liver panels while he’s on this medication, don’t worry. I watch him like a hawk. <3
My mom told me earlier that she wants Triumph’s teeth cleaned as well. I told her only if we get a full comprehensive workup done... so, that’s what we’re doing.
It still scares me to death. :(

You’ve got a good memory!
Technically Triumph belongs to my parents back home. He stays with hubby and I frequently because we’re attached at the hip.
He has a “wife,” Tesa (as in montesa, the motorcycle) and a “sister” Clementine. Those two also visit us, but mostly just for grooming and veterinary care.

Theia is mine and hubby’s first dog together, we adopted her on Valentine’s Day. We love her to death.

Awwww they’re all so cute!!!

That’s awesome!! There’s still a lot of rides I refuse to go on haha but now you have me inspired to try more. :lau

With this particular one I remember I was at the fair with my friends in middle school and they kept trying to get me to go on it but I absolutely refused, I was terrified of it, it went so high, I was like no way. So two of them went on it and my other friend and I watched. Anyway, they kept pestering me and towards the end of the night, I FINALLY agreed to go on it aaaaaaaannnnnnddddddd..... I LOVED it!! Such an adrenaline rush!! I was like let’s go on it again! :lau I wanted to keep going on it. And now I’m addicted to the dang thing. :lau :gig:lau

Still scream my head off though when it gets high up and I’m looking down. :lau :hide

This is another ride that I found intimidating but I like it now:

OMG that one looks scary!! Not sure I could conquer that one lol

Don’t think I could do this one either. My friend’s bf wanted to go on it yesterday. We both refused lol

The only ride my kids don't like is the kind where you go very high up and then freefall. They've done it, they just don't enjoy it which is terrific because that's how I feel about those.

Our nearby park doesn't have any coasters that invert so they haven't gotten to try one yet but I've been on some that had corkscrews and loops and such. That doesn't bother me, I just make sure the restraint is as tight as it gets.

Oh, and hubby rode Air Race without watching it run first. He got sick! Apparently, he can't handle that much rotation and he panicked about the upside down part which made it all worse. So, the kids and I have season passes, he might go along once on a bring a friend pass but it's mostly our thing.

Kinda like tower of terror at Disney? It takes you up then drops you? Or something different? Never done those cause they’re terrifying lol

I used to hate rollercoasters but now they’re kinda fun. :lau

But I still won’t go on the super crazy ones. I’m working my way up slowly ahah

These are all at our local fair. Although that said I think I’d rather go to an actual amusement park. Not sure I really trust fair rides haha

Btw we are lucky to have several parks near us.

This one is about 3 hours away and I didn’t used to like rollercoasters much plus it’s a little expensive so haven’t been in years and years. But it’s pretty fun. Might go back sometime. Seems they have lots of new coasters haha

This one is pretty small but fun. We used to go here for school field trips sometimes because it’s only like an hour, hour and a half away. And they’re always adding new stuff. They just recently added a waterpark. I haven’t been in a couple years I don’t think or at least a year but it’s fun. They don’t have many thrill rides or anything but it’s still usually a good time. It’s on the water too so that’s cool. They have a boat ride that goes out on the lake that we did last time. And an aerial thing you can ride and see the park. It’s a quieter, more relaxing park if you go on a quiet day. Sometimes all the schools are there and it’s filled with middle schoolers and not so relaxing haha

This one is near my mom’s family in PA and all my cousins used to work there as teens so we’ve gone a lot. Usually whenever we visit aha It’s another small little local park but it’s a lot of fun and they too recently added a big water park. And I think it’s a bit bigger than Canobie, more rides, and they have some nice old wooden rollercoasters too.

This one I went to with my friend a few years ago when I was visiting her in Pittsburgh. It was a lot of fun. And I’m pretty sure I even rode Phantom’s Revenge which from the description sounds terrifying haha but I loved it.

I would LOVE to go to this one. Rollercoaster capital of the world supposedly. But I gotta get a little less scared of rollercoasters first. :lau :hide

And I love the rides at Disney and Universal too! But both of those are so crazy expensive so we haven’t been in a veryyyyyy long time. But when I did went I loved Animal Kingdom and Epcot at Disney and the Jurassic Park river ride at Universal and the other movie related stuff aha

I’d love to go back eventually but it’s too expensive now. Maybe if I save some first aha

Oh and I forgot to post but the caffeine ended up helping. So much so that I didn’t even need to take any Excedrin. :D
Have you cleaned your room?

Have you cleaned your room?

No not yet. Or at least not finished yet. Idk. I’ve been working on it some but somehow time keeps flying by again. :hide I know, I know, it’s not the time that’s the issue or that it’s flying by, it’s me wasting it, but still. Now it’s only 4 weeks away. :hide

But that said, I’m finally working it now. Somehow managed to waste the morning again but I’m making full use of it now and already been doing a ton of laundry and sorting/organizing and stuff.

For a brief time in December 2005, I had a fox squirrel visitor. Since it was pretty friendly and not people shy, I assumed that someone had relocated it from town. I used to enjoy seeing it daily as it seemed to like hanging out on the electric pole. Then one day I saw a Red-tailed Hawk sitting on the electric pole instead of the squirrel. I believe the hawk invited the squirrel to be the guest of honor at dinner. I never saw the squirrel again but did see the hawk for several days in a row.

This morning I saw branches moving in one of the Russian Olive trees. Upon closer inspection I spotted a big Fox Squirrel jumping around in the tree. It has been nearly 14 full years since I have had a fox squirrel visitor. Unfortunately I had 2 other uninvited guests to deal with and by the time I got a camera, I was not able to locate the squirrel again.

The other guests were of the black and white type. The young one had a thin white stripe down its back and shiny black everywhere else. The mature one had two very broad white stripes with just a thin black stripe on its back along with the normal amount of black elsewhere.
