➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I know, I know :lau when my family found out I didn’t like lobster they about  :th

:lau

But I tried it at a rehearsal dinner one time years and years ago and it was really rubbery and chewy and took forever to chew and I hated it and the texture. But I later, kinda recently, learned it’s not supposed to be like that? So maybe they just overcooked it haha

And tbh I actually haven’t even tried most seafood.

I just don’t think I will like it and won’t try it.

I’ll gladly take your helpings of it !!! :lau

:lau

That sounds really good. I love coconut. Is there a mango shrimp yet? If not there should be. I LOVE mango.
I've never had lobster. I can't bring myself to pay lots of money for stuff I know is low quality in the first place.

I eat everything. I just don't like it.

Ahh okay. That makes sense. I think I would’ve made myself something else but then again maybe not. That’d be way too much work :lau

You can pry my pee can from my cold, dead, intoxicated hands.

:lau this made me literally laugh out loud. :lau

How would you know it’s low quality if you’ve never had it? ;)

That makes sense though. It can definitely be pretty expensive. But it’s super common here cause there’s so many of them so practically everywhere has it or at least has lobster rolls and it’s not too bad price wise. Can’t be cause no one would go there lol the fancier restaurants it’s more. But you can even buy live lobsters in the grocery stores here or at seafood/fish markets and such. There’s a few really good ones here. Heck, even McDonalds has lobster rolls in the summer here. :lau

Logistics. The soft shells are only available on the coast. Hard shells can be shipped... Hard shells are also not nearly so good---though, that's just anecdotal. I could be incorrect in thinking that. I assume that Massachusetts is lobster territory? I need to brush up on geography.

Ahh okay. Didn’t know there were two kinds. :lau

And well Maine especially is. Maine lobsters are like famous haha but there’s lots here too. They get some from Maine and there are lots here too. Although a lot of the lobsters have been moving north to colder waters as it gets warmer here.

You guys are making me hungry. :lau

Good thing I happen to be eating right now haha

Also wait... why is Alfredo nastiness? I LOVE alfredo anything lol chicken alfredo is :drool

Thanks! Good tip. I don’t think we’ve ever cooked it or done anything great. Just the raw shrimp (or maybe it’s boiled? Idk?) tray at parties with marinara sauce lol
dont judge shrimp by those bland ass shrimp with the cocktail sauce

How its done

Pic pulled from the net but how we do it. Bring water and seasoning to a boil let it boil about 15 min to breakdown the seasoning put everything except shrimp let it boil a while bout another 15-20 mins then turn off burner and add shrimp. They wont be overcooked if you turn the burner off before you add them. They take nothing to cook. Alot of people overcook them.

That looks sooo good omg. :love :drool

I think I DEFINITELY need to try it this way or at least a more flavorful way than just the frozen shrimp you get at the store lol

SIL is the only one in her family who says eye-talian and she knows it is wrong but picked up the habit going to college in Wisconsin. She went to a certain pizza place in Brentwood, TN where they are Seinfeld fans and they told her she couldn't have her order unless she said it correctly. I told her she's lucky they didn't send her to the back of the line.
Every once in a while I catch myself using the “eye” version.

Another one I alternate on is cement, and I use cee-ment or suh-ment.

Hubby teased me mercilessly when I said cee-ment once. He struggles with using seen in place of saw so I pointed out that at least mine is regional rather than not paying attention at school. :lau

And for the record, if I ever offer you a slice of pee-can pie, you should decline. My puh-con pie is outstanding, though.
