My best friend's idea of cooking is putting Italian dressing on some chicken breast and baking it in the oven.
I think that is the only thing she knows how to cook.

She didn't grow up with a mother who cooked like I did so she doesn't know how.
I've tried to help her but she just doesn't have a cooking bone in her body.

:lau my mother is similar. Her mother is a terrible cook lol but she at least tried. My mom does make chicken broccoli ziti though but the recipe is different every time :lau and she makes this pork thing where she just pours orange juice and I think some other dressing or seasoning and I think bread crumbs on it and puts it in the oven :lau

My dad used to cook a lot but then he stopped and she’s bad at it so neither of them have really cooked in a while. She tries sometimes but usually they never cook anything anymore which is why I’m always usually just going off or making eggs over and over again haha

I’ve been trying more lately though and you’ve been trying to help me too as have others which I appreciate and thankfully I think I am actually relatively good at it when I put in the effort because I’m good at following directions but I just don’t normally.

But I’ve been trying.

It’s just hard to sometimes.

Like tonight I was really looking forward to it and bought everything and started cooking, got pretty far actually, but then I couldn’t but that’s okay. I’ll just finish it tomorrow.

But I have been trying to make more of an effort to cook my own meals and/or eat healthy lately.

I was doing really well with that so I’m pretty disappointed I ate out yet again but oh well.

Although it’s been hit or miss lately anyway. Yesterday for brunch I made two of the eggs in a basket things which the bread part isn’t so good but the eggs were and I also sautéed a crap ton of spinach and baby kale and a small yellow squash. So I had a ton of vegetables. And some prunes ha I actually kinda overate cause I made so many veggies and was so full but wanted to eat all the veggies. :lau

Anyway, so that was really healthy but then I had a muffin and some brownies for dinner and then later peanut butter toast at midnight when I was starving.

So I’m still learning and working on it. It’s not perfect but I’m getting there.

Actually, I haven’t eaten any sweets or anything at all lately but then last night I was really craving/wanting some and got a couple thinking I’d eat them slowly not chow down

But today I got tons of veggies on my sandwich when I used to get none on it and load it with cheese and crap. So it’s a slight improvement haha

Speaking of chef
@adrikeen Can you check in so we know the chef is still feeding you please.

:lau hopefully he is haha

I do that also, didn't tonight though besides some extra seasonings which were minimal. I don't necessarily have a consistent way I do it. Most nights my husband's gone I keep it super simple bc it's easier on me. My kids are very picky and don't like most vegetables. I often cook them and make them try it, but sometimes I just make it easy on myself and cook something very plain Jane bc there is less fuss from them.

That’s totally understandable!! My cousin mostly or entirely just cooks from boxes haha they both work full time and 3 somewhat wild (but sweet) little kids so it’s just easier haha

I cooked the sweet potatoes for about ten minutes, by themselves, then threw the cooked chicken in and added the spinach.
Tossed it for about a minute and it was done.

I added garlic to the chicken while it was cooking and I added more to the potatoes while they were cooking.

Thanks that sounds easy enough. I’m gonna try it that way.

I had left over chicken, carrots, celery, onions and garlic. All home grown

That sounds good too. I wish I had grown carrots or onions or something this year haha

I can do plenty more than that, i just know there's more that I don't know than I know. And if that works for her then more power to her!

Yeah I’m the same way I think haha I can do some stuff but there’s a lot I don’t know haha

And that’s true. At least she’s cooking haha
