➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I am sure I am very trackable :lau

I tend to post pictures or statuses/stories or whatever multiple places haha not all the time or all of them but definitely a lot or particularly interesting ones ha and have had the same username like over a decade and most people at least my first name, state, birthday, and my face lol Twitter I used to be anonymous and not post my face but I stopped caring a while ago lol

Definitely don’t hide much. :lau

But then again most people don’t these days haha

OMG that is hilarious and adorable!!
I'm rather a luddite. I hardly used computers, much less the internet, until I found and joined BYC. It's been a steep learning curve.

Sorry, forgot to reply to this one.

They are my family’s dogs.. and my dogs. I have a good relationship with my parents and don’t really care enough to draw a hard line.
I did all of the work and my parents paid for their food. They still bring them to me for grooming and vet care.

Theia is mine and hubby’s.

Ah okay that makes sense. Kinda the same way here. I did all the training and work for Gator and also finding supplements/trying to help him and most walks and stuff but my parents paid for most stuff. Though I did buy some with my own money too. Same with the cat and the chickens although lately with those I’ve been tending to spend more of my own money on them though.

My dad still pays for the vet for her though just because I don’t really have a way to pay for it atm but I’m hoping once I get a job I can start paying for it myself and have my name exclusively on her records. I really want to.

Although that said I don’t know if I’m going to take her with me when I move, I think it’s be too hard on her at her age, so they may end up continuing to pay for stuff anyway if she stays here. He really loves her. And she him. And she keeps him company downstairs when he works so it wouldn’t really be fair to take her. Though I think she’d miss me but idk.

But with her litter box issues lately (keeps peeing on rugs) I don’t want to lose my deposit or whatever if she decides she needs to go in the apartment so idk.

That makes sense and is totally understandable hah

Tbh I’m probably not exactly the smartest with it but there are people that post way more than me/are all over a million different apps and stuff. Just how it is these days I guess haha I personally don’t use most of the apps.

I will say I refuse to use those face swap things. Those just seem stupid and asking for trouble or like begging to be tracked/have your ID stolen haha

BYC is the only web site I use that I contribute to, I think, but in the cases where I've needed a username to log in or something I use one that's entirely different from those I've used here. Repeating usernames or photographs makes you trackable across the internet and vastly increases the potential pool of people that might see and misuse your data.
People are welcome to stalk my gaming profiles and BYC account if they really want to.
Having a public mark on the world is inevitable if you’re putting yourself out there in any way.. it’s important to be wise and use common sense when sharing personal info, but it’s not something that keeps me up at night.

That’s no good. Has she been cleared by a vet?

Am I still paranoid if they really are out to get me?

Luddite is such a historical term. Quaint, historical.

The sole remaining chicken chick is growing. Hoping for a healthy one. Still have no idea what a good number would be for backyard paradise. Still a small flock of 26 chickens.

I was asked what to do in case of hurricane. Good question. Don't have a good answer. 6.5 dogs + 26 chickens in evacuation vehicle. Hmmm??? I'll be pondering.

I feel the same way haha I’m boring anyway :lau

And not yet but I’m planning on taking her soon just to be sure because it is definitely weird.

Although the really weird thing is she doesn’t do it all the time. And she does poop in the box. And she has also always liked going to the bathroom in weird places like the fireplaces or occasionally the shower (we try to discourage that one haha) so it’s not entirely unusual but it’s also definitely more frequent so I’m going to be taking her in soon.

But she also just went to the vet like last month or end of June for her shots and check up and everything and they said she was really healthy/in great shape for a 9 year old cat but I forgot to ask about the rug thing and she also wasn’t really doing it that much then.

But we did discover maybe like a few months ago that she had been going on a bathroom mat for a long time because we picked it up and it was soaked/smelled but we didn’t notice but so I think it’s not entirely new? I think she just likes the feeling of the rugs?

Either that or she is too lazy to walk downstairs and use the box when she is up here because when she is downstairs she doesn’t seem to have problems but idk. Even then she doesn’t go fully in the box we don’t think. Maybe it’s too high?

I think I am going to make a vet appointment ASAP because she needs another shot anyway (somehow messed it up and got one late so now it’s separate times) and also want to have her shaved again but I’m thinking I’m gonna just do a sanitary shave instead of a full shave/lion cut. She looks ridiculous then and also really doesn’t like it. But she does need her butt cleaned up/shaved a bit.

Anyway, while there, I will ask and have her tested. Cause I do want to make sure it’s not medical instead of just assuming she’s lazy or being a brat. Cause she didn’t used to have issues that I know of but idk. She’s always occasionally gone on the floor on the concrete back there if she didn’t like the litter or whatever but never often like this so idk.

I don’t think she has ever had a blood or urine test either but the problem is now because she has never had one, we don’t have a baseline or anything. But no vet (we’ve used a couple) has every mentioned it before. They always ask for/want to do the fecal but have never suggested bloodwork or anything. Maybe it’s not common to do unless there’s a problem??

But she still acts 100% healthy and happy and eats fine, still got attitude when she wants to (only can be held or petted on her schedule ha), doesn’t really act any different so idk

Can they have an issue and not show symptoms?

Now I’m gonna feel bad if she’s had some issue all this time and we thought she was a brat.

We also used to be really bad about changing the litter box sometimes so for a while we thought maybe it was that but now we’ve been doing it a ton and also have like 3 down there and she still does it so definitely gonna take her. Cause now she’s pooped outside it a couple times too just recently.

I think I’ll make an appointment today but probably won’t be able to take her until next week because of the holiday and also my expired registration but I’m gonna call and at least ask. Maybe make the vet appointment and get the grooming one separate or just buy a pair of clippers myself. But gonna see if they can see her and also see if they can do that shot early.

I just checked and it is a 3 year so will be 3 years in January 2020... will they do it early?? I hope so. Cause I want to take her in and get her checked out ASAP just in case but I also don’t really want to take her in like 4 or 5 times in one year.... one year being June to June. Cause I just took her the end of June, then if I take her within the next month or so, then if they can’t do the shot early, back in January, then the rabies is one year, so back in June for that, plus a separate grooming one, etc. see how it adds up? I love her and don’t want to wait until January to have her checked out but if they can’t do the shot early... idk. I somehow messed the shots up and got them at separate times ha the other one is (had to look at the sheet for this lol) FVRCP. Whatever the heck that is ha can it be done early or wait to be done with the rabies? I’m just trying to figure this all out so I don’t have to spend a fortune. But I’m not anti vet or anything or won’t just let an animal be sick and not take them, I am going to take her, just trying to figure out how best to do it so I don’t have to spend so much or go so many times in just a few months. If they can’t do it early it’ll be 3 times in just like 6 months. :th

If I wanted to take the chickens with me, I’d get something like this.

Cut holes in the lid for hardwire cloth vents, have them ready to go with shavings and chick waterers.

Otherwise.. I’d dump a bag of feed out in a high and dry spot and leave the doors open.

FVRCP is a combination vaccine for FVR (feline herpes), distemper, and Calicivirus which is similar to FVR.
If it was a 3 year then yes, she can have it a couple months early (but you can always double check when you call).

I would try a litter box with lower walls, and putting one on each floor. Sometimes arthritis can cause cats to pee in easier to reach spots.
And yes, she can have urinary issues without showing other symptoms. That can be the first sign of diabetes or kidney disease.

When i was pulln my hair out for barry someone suggested to me for my tons of vicious quail-- if we had to run-- to wrap them each in newspaper like burritos, keeping the wings restrained, so they could all be packed in the back of the trucks. Thats my plan now. When the flood of 16 hit i had about 100 birds and lost about 30. Most of them could get up on high roosts but some :( then the quail of course didnt stand a chance, total lose like 15 of em i had, 3 generations of 5 locals lines. Didnt know about JMF, thought everyone ordered from far away, so i was tryn to vary the blood across all these diff peoples stock.

All to say I wont leave em again. I will take em to a whole Hotel if i got to and ive got some dog kennels (around 9) and 3 dogs and 2 cats. No more drownings.
