Yup, hubby is the oceany fish guy. Not my scene.Omgoodness that would be amazingThey are so cool even if they are totally impractical pets.
DH is the fish fan in our house. He has a lovely 20 gal tank with lots of fresh water plants, fish, and shrimp. It is really cool just not something I personally am drawn to. I prefer pets I can more closely interact with.![]()
This was only like a month ago, long after we got Theia.
My heart is drawn to most every animal. I have to let my brain make the decisions; I will never ever let an animal suffer because I lack the money or time for it.
Sometimes my heart pulls a little harder than my brain, and that’s what hubby is there for lol. Reality check!

Same. But then, I’m not much of a fish person.
Now slap a tegu in that tank and you’re speaking my language!![]()
Omgoodness that would be amazingThey are so cool even if they are totally impractical pets. Although...they are much better suited to being pets than iguanas IMO.

I am also not a fish fan. I turned all my old tanks into brooders.![]()

We used to get our feeders from a neat little reptile store that was run by the husband of the vet I used to work for.
They had a tegu that was as tame as a dog. Knew his name and everything. Really cute dude.
Yeah, I should clarify that by impractical, I am only referring to the crazy amounts of space they need plus the high feeding costs. They seems to have really fantastic personalities. Way better then most of the other giant lizards. I would love to get to meet one in person some day. That must have been so cool.Yup, hubby is the oceany fish guy. Not my scene.

And yeah that’s true. I prefer that too! Although tbh that said I talk to my fish and they seem to recognize me and swim up to me when I walk in
And fish can hear!![]()
Nope, he was snatched up quickly. Our shelters have a very high turnover rate.Oh boy!! I still contend that you should have gotten him! Is he still there? Was he adopted?
And that is very smart and honestly the right approach!! I wish more people would think about that stuff before getting animals! So many animals suffer because people don’t do any research prior to getting them!!
And honestly if I could I would have like 20 million animals!! LOL
Oh yes, impractical in the sense that shitty impulse buyers are now destroying Florida’s ecosystem with them.Yeah, I should clarify that by impractical, I am only referring to the crazy amounts of space they need plus the high feeding costs.
